T-OBD - Diagnostics For Porsche 968, 964 and 993

I have the T-Light HID fitted. It is wonderful. Very neat. The light pod looks exactly the same - everything's contained within the unit - no hanging wires - no ballast glued to the body - holes - grommets etc. AFN Reading were really impressed. To appreciate how good it is, take a look at the old-style HID conversion detailed on [link=https://www.porscheclubgb.com/forum/tm.asp?m=174807]https://www.porscheclubgb.com/forum/tm.asp?m=174807[/link]. I'm sure his LED kit is as good, although he has recently sent out an alert that if you have cruise control, the lower current requirement causes cc to register this as a fault and won't work - he suggests for now that you put one of the original bulbs back in. I'm not sure what I'd use the OBD for - but I'm sure it will work beautifully. I think if you're on Rennlist you'll get a discount. Tore Bergvill is a genius and a really nice guy. For a relatively small amount he repaired my OBC backlight. Thanks Tore.

I bought the oBd for my 964 , identified a few faults and re set airbag light etc Still have it in the hope of getting another one someday

I'm gradually upgrading all my 993 ights using his kits. HIDs are great, massive imporovement and pretty muych drop in. Just done the rear high level brake light with his led kit. All his stuff very well thought out. Tobd works fine on my 1996 993, used it to clear faults and chek for WOT. Can also be used to graph running parameters of the engine.... Andrew

Andrew and Tore What colour temp did you go for? Was also looking at the brake light led and centre console leds too Graham

I recommend you go for the standard temp. My centre console, brake/3rd brake and fog lights all work so I'm leaving well alone. If it ain't broke .....

These look so good I might "upgrade" from my "early adopter" HIDs - I'm fed up every time I swap the dip beam between left/right with trying to get the headlights back in with a lump of ballast to fiddle with too. I've ordered a rear brake light first because I have a few bulbs out and I may as well get LEDs in there.

Mark Just do it - you won't regret it. Nothing Heath Robinson about this kit. They're not expensive really. Join Rennlist and get a discount. I guess you'll have to buy some grommets to fill the holes you drilled in the pod for the flying wires. Incidentally, make sure you have the 'new' back covers for the pods - there's a fixing to screw the ballast onto that's missing on the 'old' back covers. They're about a tenner each, I think. I too was an early adopter. I bought a Betamax video. Why wouldn't I? Much better than VHS. Also a Minidisc recorder/player. Doh.

Hi Matthew, >>new back covers<< That's a good idea because it will mean the holes I drilled are gone. Can't believe it is a separately available part - but it does seem to have it's own part number - I will try to order.

I lost one of the back-covers a few years back - don't ask - I'm not very bright. I ordered a replacement (which is how I know the cost). Immediately on my return from my indie with my new back-cover installed, I found the original on the bench in my garage. Doh.

Ordered my HID, LED Bulbs, 3rd Brake Light LEDS, Centre Console LEDS & OBD yesterday. Being Shipped today! [:)]

I have now installed the HIDs, all outside LEDs & the 3rd Brake light
