S2 Valve Springs

I haven't bought any valve springs from design 911 but I have bought plenty of other things and can't fault them, OEM items can be from the same factory or at least manufactured to the same standards. Why not ask them directly, I'm sure they will give an honest answer...iirc they did for me when inquiring about turbo exhaust valves, I wasn't sure if their's were up to the job as they were too cheap....they checked for me if they were sodium filled, they weren't which explained the price, probably ok for a standard car but very dangerous for mine, btw I asked the same question for a number of suppliers selling cheaper versions, none were sodium filled so be careful turbo owners. However I would expect their springs to be ok for a standard car in normal use, perhaps not a track day car though but as i said no harm in asking the question.

Quickie. I am in the process of pricing up a head refresh on my S2. I have a replacement head which is currently with an engineering shop and they have told me that it needs new valve springs. While this is a shame, it's perhaps no bad thing and I means I am obliged to change them, rather than being tempted to try and eek some more life out if an existing set.

The engineering shop has told me that the springs are main dealer only, and my local OPC (East London) has given me a price of £21.25p for each pair. At 16 pairs, this is £408 once you have added the VAT.

However I notice that Design 911 list some "OEM Brand" springs for the S2 on their page at £15.95p/set. This is £100 cheaper for a set than OPC parts. Does anyone know anything about the springs that Design 911 sell? Are they from the same factory who would supply Porsche, or are they not to be trusted? Does anyone else know of a source of pattern springs for the S2, or have any other suggestions? The Design 911 link is here:

Ooooooh now that IS a good spot, thanks very much. Definitely worth looking into.

For reference, I just called Design 911. The guy at the end of the phone wasn't much help ; he said they buy them from an aftermarket supplier but didn't know where they have been made or whether they came from the same manufacturer or not. To be honest, it didn't engender much confidence, although there can't be many places knocking the things out so they may well be genuine.

I'll look into the Rosepassion option a little more. Thanks Waylander.
