924 - 944 bonnet differences

Hi guys,

I picked up a spare bonnet today to put my D9 vents into, only issue is that it's either an early 944 or a 924 bonnet (has the small washer jets and had a bonnet prop attached although it has the lugs for the lifters too).

I know that they are broadly interchangeable but if anyone could provide some pics of the bracket mounting areas on a 924/944/Both then I'd be very grateful.

The bonnet is at the body shop and the car is at the garage until Tuesday or else I could check myself - guy at the Bodyshop wants to get cracking on Monday so I need to know whether he's going ahead or not.

Not sure about differences but there is some. Ken will know as he got a 924 turbo bonnet.

Personally I think the audi quarto vents on one side at angle would be best suited style wise. Iv got a pic saved on my phone can send via email if someone would like to up load

I'm going for function over form hence keeping my original bonnet so I can swap between the two if needed.

I've removed my 924 bonnet gone back to the original

Simon is the expert on this but from memory hinge mounting all common so will fit OK

some of the internal reinforcing is different
washer jets
no bracket to push on the under bonnet switch

if anyone wants a really nice series 2 924 turbo bonnet with the vent give me a call [;)]

Thanks Ken, looks like the shape across the firewall seal is the same And the mounting lugs appear to be in the same positions.

The he washer jets are different but they're included in the bonnet along with the hoses so that,ll be pretty straightforward to connect up.

Under bonnet net switch on mine was connected to a defunct alarm and isn't wired into anything now so the omission of that isn't an issue.

Looks like I'm good to go - whoever buys your bonnet isn't getting a really nice bonnet - we've seen your standards remember, it'll be exceptional!
