Hi just wondering if anyone has had the same experience, car was new to me in September and garage hadn’t done regas, so got it done. Noticed over the last couple of weeks a/c didn’t seem to be working and confirmed it today as the weather was warmer. I am guessing this isn’t normal, done 3k miles since September and had a/c on most of the time. Any advice or insight greatly appreciated. Thanks Mike

Generally with aircon, the cars HVAC should be left on Auto so it will run the aircon all year. This keeps the seals lubricated. Once seals dry out you can get leaks. A condenser can fail but that's pretty rare. Your best bet is to take it to someone who can do a pressure test on it. Really before any re-gas a pressure test should have been done. Most places charge £20-30 for a test. If it fails that there is little point having it gassed until you find where its leaking.
Something else to consider is if the fan is working. Can you feel moving air via the vents? If not then its probably just a stuck fan which is pretty common. Come the winter or if my car has been unused for a week, this can happen to mine. All you need to do is remove the top of the pollen filter cover and the filter. Reach down inside and you will feel the fan. Just give it a spin with your fingers. Obviously do this with the ignition off!! After this the fan will work. This top tip came from an ex OPC mechanic. Aparently a stuck fan is very common.

Thanks very much for the reply, very helpful, yes fans working, I have it booked in for a regas on Monday but will ask about the pressure test as well. I have extended the Porsche warranty so if it needs something major it will be covered, hopefully!Generally with aircon, the cars HVAC should be left on Auto so it will run the aircon all year.
