A limited-edition version of the Porsche 911 Turbo S produced to commemorate 40 years of the 911 Turbo has been revealed. The Porsche 911 Turbo S Exclusive GB Edition is unique to the UK market and only 40 examples will be built.

The model "" designed and manufactured by Porsche Exclusive, the German manufacturer's personalisation department "" is augmented with a raft of exterior and interior kit.

The new variant has been designed to incorporate styling cues from the original 911 Turbo "˜930' from 1974. It features a black rear upper spoiler, Sport Classic wheels in black, black finished exterior door handles, and the black Porsche script along the sills.

Inside, the black leather upholstery features Guards Red contrasting stitching and unique highlights include an embossed Union flag on the centre storage compartment lid.

Other special kit includes carbonfibre door sill guards with "˜911 Turbo S "" Exclusive GB Edition' in illuminated lettering, carbonfibre interior trim, including the PDK gear lever and bespoke floor mats with leather edging and decorative stitching.

The 911 Turbo S Exclusive GB Edition is available in a choice of three exterior colours: silver, white or red.

The limited-edition car is mechanically identical to the standard Porsche 911 Turbo S. That means it has an all-wheel drive chassis and a 3800cc twin-turbocharged flat-six engine which produces maximum power of 552bhp at 6500rpm and maximum torque of 516lb ft at 2100rpm.

Priced from £150,237 "" almost £10,000 more than the regular 911 Turbo S "" and available to order now, each car will be delivered together with a personal photo book documenting the production process, a bespoke Exclusive GB Edition indoor car cover and unique design sketches.

Facelift won't be until around 2016.

...probably be even more plastic though, just painted.

Anyone know how the 991 Turbo and S are selling compared to the old numbers for the 997 equivs? This smells of 'sales gimmick' to me to try to get more interest...

They must be selling very well I would think, as no-one has thought it necessary to offer one to me. [&:]

Regards,

Clive.

I'd wait for the new retro ducktail version with pre impact bumbers facelift series II edition black with Porsche Design ball point pen limited paint in Curarara Pink and sunroof delete and special design ultra rare 25 inch wheels with spinning rims and uprated Bose system with an external loudspeaker and sports exhaust playing sounds from the 70's ...... [:D]

Why are they offering this GB edition in silver, white or red? Surely it should be red, white or blue.

Where is the extra 10K coming from ??? the special documentation ?? and expensive car cover,
wonder if they will make me a Saltire version hee hee hee , like a large fast Coulthard Helmet [:)][:)][:)]. dont want to leave UK, im Scottish and proud to be British [:)]

Maybe there will be a vote for N. Ireland too .... interesting while the UK economy seems to be strong people seem less vociferous .... only an observation[;)]

I was offered one of these a month ago by the dealer where I have a GT3 on order on the basis that I then wouldn't have to wait. TBH, as a mish-mash of tacky add-ons, I can't think of a single favourable thing to say about it.

Just seen the latest update on the Porsche website - the original press release mentioned £10K premium over the usual Turbo S price of £142,120. Seems the demand must be so great that Porsche have cashed in again and whacked the 'starting from' price to £159,054 - so that'll be nigh on £17K for the tacky bits!

17k for what really ??? 10k was bad enough, the wheels are a cheaper option than the Original Turbo S by about 2k or there abouts ?????

Not sure on that, Turbo lots easy to get, Turbo S were like rocking horse do last time I checked, I keep getting different OPC's call to offer turbo so I ask back on S's, GT3 and GT2' to which people are happy to take money but cant say when or if they'll be produced. Apart from the UK 4oyear special edition. Its a marmite model, you'll either love the retro or hate it. Not my cup of tea at all. Now if it had another 40bp.......

I have no information but I expect the base turbo is a slow seller. By the time you've added a few must-have options to it, it's within striking distance of the S which has them as standard.

At least they had the decency this time to launch the S first and the base turbo as a sort of de-contented car later. With the 997.2, it was the other way round and the S was launched about a week after I took delivery of my turbo which has destroyed its residual value. At this price point, people don't want a whiff of "second best".

Yes interesting Mark. So the S introduced the range and is now pretty much run out to the facelift. Leaving the Turbo at a a better entry price but needing lot of extra's if you want your tourer.

I am guessing though its there for C2S and C4S people who spec well, add some extras and your quickly at £110-£115k, its only an extra £3k to a turbo sir/madam........

The other thing to bear in mind is that many options count for little at resale compared to when they are bundled into a car with a higher spec name.

Thus, a turbo S will always be worth more than an equivalently optioned-up turbo. My dealer specifically cautioned (while trying to talk me out of a GT3) not to option up a 991 turbo too much and so retain blue sky between what I would be paying and what an S costs; maybe he was just trying to steer me in the direction of a turbo S but, certainly, I have taken a bath with my 997.2 turbo (which was almost a turbo S but for the ceramics and engine map) compared to a 997.2 turbo S.

Personally, if I wanted a new turbo, I would steer clear of the base model.
