1989 Turbo Wheels

The 1990 turbo now owned by Pete (Skyline) came with forged CS wheels originally. Not sure what my current car had though, as had Cup 1's fitted by the time I bought it.

Have you still got your Turbo Ewan? I thought you had sold it or, was going to sell it [:)]. My car is running on Design Sport 90's
(18") and, I think it looks Hard as Nails on them [8D]. Drives and handles brilliant on them too! Don't believe all that crap about
944's not handling well on 18"s [8|].

Hi Mr Shark [:)], as everyone knows on here, I am totally sh1te at posting pictures [:(]! But, all is not lost.....Perhaps one of my
good forum buddies would do me the honours and post a couple of my photo's from before? God knows, there are enough of
them [8|]!! I think they look the b0ll0x and, handle like a Go Cart too (maybe the KW v3 suspension and, fully poly bushed set up
helps somewhat [8D][;)])!

Ex skylines wheels are multiple spoke design from 911 they are not 18" version off d90 type we know came on are cars

Ah... like these?

This was the 70k S2 I recently sold, the 18's were on it when I bought it but I put a fresh set of D90's on it instead. Those above had 285's on the rear.. did look a bit wide, really FAT from the rear view and very cool, but not for the purist.. Handling wasn't any much compromised, felt fine to me! Just too old-v-modern I thought..

Handling has to be compromised by virtue of the excessive extra rear grip. This will promote understeer, whether it has been detected or not.

Those wheels are BBS Sport Classics. Sport Designs are 'GT3' wheels.

I'm not keen on the 18inch look,a little bit "Hot Wheels"for my taste, each to their own!
The 16inch wheels look so pukka especially the CS and are so progressive, loads of feel, and just look so nice and period in my book.I'm going back to silver aswell.

No, they are not like those ones. They have Ten spokes and I have seen them on a GT3 before a few times [8D]. I think they look
the Mutz Nutz! Can no-one put up a picky for me [8|]?

email me a picture Pete and I will put it up [;)]

The wheels in post 31 are very similar to the ones currently on my car, but mine are in terrible condition and rub on the arches.

Would 7" fronts and 9" rears in 16" size fit a 1989 Turbo?

Possibly but it will depend on the ET too.

Hi Pete,

I've still got the turbo, but it's not seen the light of day for the last couple of months. I do keep thinking of selling, but have never quite got round to placing an advert. But if you know someone on the look out one like mine, have them contact me.

(That's about as much of an ad I can bare to place!)

Well the 944 passed its MOT after sitting for a couple of years so the recommissioning work starts now, beginning with a hunt for new wheels. I'll start up a project thread for the progress, thanks for the assistance on this one.

The early 968 I had was built in Neckarsulm as well, I wonder if anyone has ever actually seen an S2 with the Stuttgart designation in its VIN?
