2019 The fish n' chip run

We too enjoyed the ride yesterday & the alternate route into Whitby. The food at Trenchers was excellent & we met Peter & Val whom we hag some interesting conversation with
Thanks to all who organised this event roll on the McLaren visit on the 28th April
Telford & Cheryl Rollin

We will echo Telford and Cheryl's sentiments, we managed to follow the route apart from an initial deviation in Malton and the roof was down for the whole journey.
A nice drive with a few other cars, mostly Boxsters, across to Rosedale and then a spirited dash across the moors with a lovely blue Carrera for company, they seemed to enjoy the journey as well.
Parking at the college was very convenient with just a short walk to Trenchers who were expecting us, we enjoyed a lovely meal in the company of Telford and Cheryl with plenty of time to chat before heading for home.
It is such a shame Chris was unable to lead the day as it was a great event, very well organised and a credit to all his efforts, a big thank you to SCM for being excellent and generous hosts and to Mark for taking up the reins for the day.

Just a quick thank you to the organisers for today's event, it was our first run with the club and we really enjoyed it. The run from Malton to Whitby was great as it was the first chance I had to push the Cayenne to keep up with the Boxers and I'm still grinning.
The food at Trenchers was superb and it was great to share a table with Adam and Karen.
Thanks again for a great event, Mike and Jane.
Glad you enjoyed it and good to see a Cayenne out on a run too. We enjoyed having you behind us from Malton to Rosedale; we were in the black 718S Boxster on loan from Porsche Leeds.
are you going on any club nights?
It would be good to meet you. (Fancy taking the Cayenne green laning sometime?)

Graham and Jane

Yes it was a lovely event with great hospitality at SCM (loved the dog) and a great drive out across the moors following a well driven Baxter with a couple of surprise summits along the way. Whitby and fish and chips is always awesome and with a 360 mile round trip derby, Leeds, Malton and Whitby and back the C4s had a lovely outing and surprisingly all on one tank of fuel ?? including the spirited dash.
Thanks to you all
excellent!

It was lovely to meet you both too. Looking forward to Wednesday night if you can both still make it.

Will be at Todwick on Weds evening if you're going. Enjoyed trying to keep up you, struggled a bit with matching your acceleration!
Not sure about green laning with 21" wheels, already knackered a brand new Pirelli in a pothole!

Sorry didn't go to Todwick, we're on the north side of Leeds. Will be going to Beckwithshaw; it would be wrong not to really as it is only 15 minutes away from us.

21" wheels with low profile tyres are not great on potholes or green lanes. The latest Discoverys have 20" wheels but with 55 section section tyres.

I have seriously thought about replacing our Disco4 with a Cayenne and going laning in it, but it would have to have the air suspension and I suspect I'd have to change the tyres and probably wheels. Apparently with the right tyres they are amazingly capable.
