Anglesey track day on the 27th
This is a PCGB organised event.

Llandudno on 28th
Porsches on the Prom
Some of you will be going to Anglesey the day before and staying overnight to then go to Llandudno, for those that are just going on the Sunday you could post on here if you want to organise a convoy from your local area and then maybe arrange for the smaller convoys to join up somewhere along the way.

Full details are on page 10 of Aprils Porsche Post.

FYI: I am thinking we can meet up en-masse at Colwyn Bay Civic Hall(next to the police station), they have a large secluded car park, just waiting for an answer back from them with permission.
I'll let you know.

Hi R6ers. How about meeting with us R7ers and joining us for breakfast at the Groes Inn. Just a thought. Mike. ( see post in r7 section)

I'm definitely up for travelling in convoy - it was great when we did it last year (if a little short) - so how's about a longer run this year? I'm travelling from Warrington (J22). So, how's about... Lymm truck stop (J20 M6) at 0915 on Sunday? Then onward convoy to Colwyn bay civic hall as mr968 suggests to arrive there 1030 / 1045 and then onto the prom? Let me know - cheers Mark

I've not had any response back yet but I'm not surprised as when I spoke to them they seemed a bit confused about why we would be asking permission, the area is apparently not gated and open to anybody. Postcode is LL29 8AR and references for Google Earth are 53degrees 17'32.68" N and 3degrees 42' 36.63" W Just off the A55, take the sign for Old Colwyn(A547) Turn left To the roundabout Take the sign for Colwyn Bay A547 Abergeley Road First right down a lane with Cherry Blossom trees Police station is on the right, go right to the end and turn right and there is a large car park on the left. I'm just going off Google Earth and keep in mind that I have never used this car park before. But after some investigation it is used by learner bikers for practice so should be well tarmacced and flat. There is loads of parking spaces leading to it anyway so on a Sunday morning it shoudl all be pretty clear. I've put some info and a map on here http://www.carmatrix.co.uk/pcgbnw/2013-porsches-on-the-prom.php

Just watch out for the old boys with their model boats who use it for the boating lake behind! The learners do sometimes cone off big chunks of the car park or use cones for practicing slow speed slaloms etc. There is usually loads and loads of room there on a Sunday. I *might* sometimes go there to play with my Dad's model boats [:D]

No but my Dad now lives in Deganwy which is just up the road and he enjoys playing with model boats in his retirement! The Colwyn Bay model boat club is just like a geriatric miniaturised water based version of PCGB and the lake they use is just adjacent to your car park behind the trees. It might be a bit early in the year but they do meet up on a Sunday morning so for the sake of a 30 second walk it might be worth a quick peek. Some of the models are epic. Some are completely rubbish. As I said, just like PCGB [:D]

I got a call back form Colwyn Bay council yesterday and we discussed the use of the car park. They would like to see some public liability insurance and I am just waiting for a copy of that from PCGB HQ. Hopefully have it sorted out by the end of today. I have updated the page http://www.carmatrix.co.uk/pcgbnw/2013-porsches-on-the-prom.php Let me know if anybody wants information on there regarding local meet ups in your area.

Hi All That's great - thanks for all the local info esp to Mr968 for sorting. What time would you like us to meet at the colwyn cark park? Also, I'll be at the Lymm truck stop services - going to arrive there at 0915 on Sunday and set off from there at 0930 - arriving colywn around 1030 for onward drive the prom. Let me know if anybody fancies joining me for the M6 and A55 convoy!! I'll keep checking the forum but grateful for replies (either yay or nay) would be appreciated - cheers all, Mark

Hi Stuart Colwyn Bay Council have already got a copy of our liability insurance. The Prom is administered by the Harbour Master's office to whom I apply each year for the permit. It looks like a classic case of the right hand not knowing what the left is doing. The car park is a public car park and to the best of my knowledge no permission is required to use it. I live only a couple of hundred metres from this car park in Colwyn Bay. Can you tell me who in the Council is requesting the insurance. If you wish please give me a call on my number below. Hi Brendan, this is the council offices car park I'm looking at for a meet up then convoy to Llandudno, not the Llandudno parking. Tried to call you and left a message. The contact is David Ellis and as far as I am aware they knew nothing about a meet up in their car park on Sunday prior to me suggesting it and would need to advise the local motorcycle teaching school that the whole area of the car park may not all be available for their weekly meet. It was David Ellis who although is very helpful and pleasant to deal with has asked to have sight of the certificate. Paul Grainger has spoken to me this morning and said that you have advised him that you have all this in hand. Great. Please be sure to contact David Ellis so there aren't any hiccups on Sunday morning. ----------------------------------- Brendan now has this in hand so hopefully all is well, See you all on Sunday.

Does anyone know how much it would be to come down and watch at the Anglesey Circuit on saturday? Also what time would be best to get there for? I've looked on the circuit website, PCGB motorsport website and the form to download is just for attending the track day. Thanks for the help, Adam

Normally free, briefing probably 08.00 but not positive. 09.00 would be good time to arrive, may be going myself for a total 911 photoshoot.

Thanks for the info, won't finish work till 8:30am so will probably be there at 10 (but i will be hiding myself as i have yet to buy a porsche... lol)

Hi guys I would like to meet up with you at Lymm on Sunday morning. Do you have a postcode that I can program into Google maps please

don't have a postcode but just look on Google Earth for the M56/M6 junction, and it's about 1/2 mile just up the M6 on the right, you can't miss it, it's full of trucks [;)]

Hi Stuart I have spoken with Conwy Council and using the Civic Car park is not an option. For us to do so they would charge £100 + VAT as an admin charge. However David Ellis was very helpful and he suggests that we use the Colwyn Bay Prom for the gathering of cars. As previously briefed, when you come off the A55 at the Colwyn Bay turn off, instead of going left up to the roundabout, turn right and you are immediately on the prom at Colwyn Bay. If you then make a left turn along the Prom you will see a lot of work going on. on the beach, go past this and you will come to the Pier. Just after the Pier there is plenty of parking available on both sides of the road. When you are ready to set off in convoy, follow the same road through Rhos-on-Sea and it will bring you into Llandudno and straight on to the Prom in Llandudno. Entry to the Prom will be opposite "The St George Hotel" Brendan Daly RO6
