458 Italia v Turbo S report late May

Much as I love Porsche, I'll not buy another 911 with that sort of depreciation.

+1

I now plan to just keep my current car for-everrrrrrrr.....unless I win the Lottery of course [;)]

Only one winner here the dealer! OR the person who keeps the car for 5 years or more and puts miles on it.

[:D] doing just that...
Do I care about the loses? not a bit as I'm having a great time.
Every mile is a smile and I plan to live life to the full, your dead too long to be worrying about the % of losses.

True I looking at the best way to not waste the money- and certainly one of the reasons for me not changing at this time.
When the 991 is here... who knows...

We will never win as people either sell the car because they use it too much and worried about the losses or they sell it because they don't use it!.....

Ditto Gary, I have lost so much I have run out of naughts, would I do it again......yes, but actually I am enjoying saying I will make this one a keeper, wifes hopes I am not "BS ing" and I hope I can do it, I suppose I have learnt one thing in the last few years it is getting very much harder to have any supercars and even slightly enjoy the power on normal roads now. So its the law and the price of fuel..............more because of the law though []

Very true.... [:D]

Mine always start out as keepers but then a newer more tempting version appears and like most on here I can resist everything except temptation..........

..............although it may be a while before I "invest" in another Ferrari. I got north of £10k off list on a new 430 and still dropped £50k in 2 years.

By contrast I did 3,000 miles in a new 997GT2 and sold it back to the OPC for what I had paid them.

What actually defines a 'Keeper' ? I hear that term all the time. Has it come to mean 5yrs+,10 yrs+, or does it still mean until your days on this earth are no more?

I don't think anything is ever a keeper. Like everything, you get bored, circumstances change etc

Just a few more days waiting and hopefully we will get another good weekend of weather, I pick up the 458 next Friday afternoon, a trip via Berkhamspted that evening to see friends and then NW Herts for the weekend..............its black so you may see it around Harpenden, they are still very rare...........will post thoughts afterwards

Derek, my ears prick up when discounts of 10% are mentioned. What model in particular and colour were sales tempting to interest you in please, or was it a broad offer to reduce stock.

John
