911 C4 GTS scary in heavy rain

Thanks I'm booking with Center Gravity 1st week of September (that's their earliest availability). I'll let you know how it goes.

Haven’t seen anyone mention this, what tyres are on the car and what’s there tread depth like?

pp Maser2

The tyres are all as OEM standard with lots of tread.

I had the tyres set before the trip to 32 front, 39 rear. They are Pirelli PZero (N).

.....

Hopefully Centre Gravity can investigate the detail of the ^ and replicate the conditions experienced  :p

While I have used CG and been very happy if you want to try and sort earlier than Sept then try String Theory at Stratford on Avon, I have Porsche friends who swear by them. They are the alternative to CG. Maybe worth a call.

Apologies didn't see the earlier thread, I run Michelin cup 2's on my GT3, fantastic dry & track tyre but pretty hopeless in the wet. I had a 992 C4S GTS for a few months picked it up late 22 & owned it for about 4 months. Basically drove it in some pretty poor conditions including heavy rain, it obviously helped it was 4WD it was also on Pirellis & i drove in those conditions with more confidence than I would have on a Cup 2 shod car. Most super cars aren't that great in the wet due to the combination of wide tyres & relatively light weight they have a natural propensity to aquaplane in the shallowest of puddles. Hopefully when you get the Geo fixed it will make a big difference.
For reference these 911's are quite sensitive to Geo set up. I was never that happy with the turn in on my previous 991.2 GT3 it wasn't as good as my 991.1, got the Geo done at the dealership & the tracking was out marginally at best, however once it was tweaked it made a tremendous difference, so hopefully you will get the same result.

All the very best

Steve

Don't think it's been mentioned, though it might have a minimal effect depending on the speed. I deploy the spoilers in the rain on the motorway, have spoilers front and rear (991.2 Turbo S). Think every little bit helps.
