911 & Porsche World Picnic - Sunday 28th September 2008

If the weather was really good I might go for it. Its about 100 mile round trip for me if I take a cross-country route.

Its not me that has a penchant for the woods!

Where is Tolchard these days then?

Yes - I'll be there!! Tolchard hangs around the M25 these days! ..likes to go round in circles![:D][:D][:D]

There's a good chance that a bunch of 964s and various other 993/GT3s might make it from their planned meeting in Surrey on that morning. No idea how many but I'd be disappointed if it were much less than 20.

Is there any food being provided (Bar-B-Q etc) or is it very definitely a take your own food picnic??

Regards

Dave

The ads say there are foood stands but I don't remember any from last year but then we took our own picnic..

Hi Dave
Can you tell me where the Surrey meet is on the Sunday morning?
Cheers
Tracy

Tracey,

Full details on the 964 forum (click here) but the answer to your question is the Windmill Inn, Windlesham from about 10:30 onwards. We plan to drive over to the 911&PW Picnic later (probably from 12:00-ish.

Regards

Dave

Keep checking the weather: http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?id=3190

I will be going, but not in my Porsche - well unless my new suspension parts from the US don't arrive before this coming Sat and I can't drop the car off at 'Center Of Gravity' for the work to start.

Gallery of photos from today now on Picasa.

Early 911s aplenty, including this cracking orange one:

The 356s had me most confused - quite a few replicas I think, but some you (I) couldn't tell! Fairly confident this is a real one:

At least two splendid 968 Club Sports:

Not one but two Carrera GTs, both attracting a lot of interest:

A row of 914s:

Not a bad event, but I think it needed slightly better organising. Took ages to get into the venue as there seemed to be only one way in and out.

The Red Speedster was a replica ..... difficult to spot but its tax disc said "Chesil"

Still, very nice ... would quite like one myself

How do they get those '356 Registry' badges ?

How do they get those '356 Registry' badges ?
Makes a complete mockery of the Registers if people are allowed to put them on replicas. What do owners of the real cars think to that?
