911 & porsche world

ORIGINAL: frogisland

you mean 911 & PORSCHE world have put yet another article in that does not involve the 911

frogisland

its not the fact that its articles not about the 911 - its that the article itself is rubbish - such as: Cayenne Buyers Guide[:'(]. If it were an article about the Cayenne being spanked off road/round a track/compared to peer group etc etc thats probably a bit more interesting in my opinion

I personally think nothing but 911's could be very boring unless done exceptionally well - and would love to see stuff on all porsches. ideas that they tried to do in past issues such as buying an older porsche as an everyday car instead of a Mondeo company car - was a good idea - but they could have expanded it with real life examples etc

As many of you may know , I used to write a reg. col. for 911 P/W, i was asked to supply a full report on the GT3R mods, this included full photo ref.s etc, it was submitted last OCT. [complete waist of time !!

When the running reports were scrapped in favour of staff cars [for example 2 pages on how to change a wiper blade ! ] I recieved e mails from so many readers from the UK & EUROPE ASKING FOR THE REPORTS TO BE RETURNED.

I think the mag. should be re-named CHRIS HORTONS WORLD OF BOREDOM.

Funnily enough I stopped subscribing to '911 & Porsche World' about the time 'Running Reports' was deleted, your articles were the highlight Richard. Incidentally if you dare to look in the SC forum you will find SC running Reports (not many yet) but why don't you start 'Running Reports' here?

i did 28 running reports and maybe some were a bit dull, but ive met lots of people that miss them and i think they should at least have a readers cars page.. i always read mine from the back, started with parts for sale , cars for sale, running reports, then keith seumes column then cotton and finally the editors page..

Just today, I picked up the current copy at my local WH Smiths reading library[;)] just to check if it was worth buying - flicking from the back - as you do - there's a bloody great picture of Keiths 964 RS looky likey! But seeing as Mr C has already emailed me the photos & text i don't need to buy next months anyway!

guess your waiting till march 1st for the 997 graham ...getting back to running reports i think what killed it was new writers reporting about buying their dream car then next issue they polished it and bought a couple of tyres then nothing...they should have only been accepted after submitting 5 or 6 articles...

I used to enjoy the articles by the musician and artist (I think?) from Crawley, about their 944.
Not Porsche "mould" people, and more interesting for it.

Wonder what happened to them?

Vic,

Hi mate ,just for the record " PINKIES " pressed and clean and ready for action !!

Regards Richard,
