When I bought my SC I looked for one that was 1981+ to ensure it had the 204 BHP engine with better fuel economy.
The turbo-style 'whale tail' spoiler was an optional extra on these cars from 1982 onwards (well that's what I read anyway!) and many SC's have been fitted with the later front valence with built in fog lights at some point in their life. It does make you wonder though if these cars have ever been in a front-end accident? Many (including mine) have later 3.2 seats fitted as well because the originals are simply horrible.

Modifying a Porsche is a matter of personal taste or lack of, at the end of the day it is your car to do with as you please despite what some of the Porsche snobs might say. Some of the parts from latter models will improve earlier models. The best money I have spent was by fitting Xenon headlights the difference is night and day. On bodywork repairs they are doable and pattern parts are avilable just take your time and be patient. Some people refer to stacks of history but it is what has been done to the car recently that is most important on a 20 years plus old car. They are great cars but need looking after to get the best out of them.

Thats a bit harsh, and I think a matter of personal opinion, I have Pasha seats in mine (Black & white check) and I love 'em, and wouldn't change them (except for the original Pasha Recaro optional seats - anyone got any?)

Also the later seats, if electric are a lot heavier than the originals.

Pasha's certainly an aquired taste.....getting really retro cool now though [;)]

I must admit that I changed my pasha seats for the later sport seats simply because they hold you in better, the difference
is amazing! Plus my old drivers seat was getting very saggy on the door side....felt like I was falling out every time I took
a bend at any speed.

I think the one thing I changed on my car that improved the feel more than anything was fitting a smaller Momo wheel as
the standard steering wheels are a little bus-like for my taste!

I agree about the lateral support - a little non existant in the standard (non-sport) seats, hence my on going hunt for the early pasha recaro sport seats.

I thought that was just your ar$e mate [:D]

I have seen Dougs new interior and it does look a lot better in the black and matching door cards.

I didn't mean to offend. Let's just say that they are not to my liking. (Not at all. Not one little bit. Nasty, nasty things! lol)
