Progress on this project is proceeding slightly ahead of as published in porsche post! The car is now booked in to the paintshop from 7th October. As we have much local interest in this project we are opening our gates for the day on Sunday 1st October, as many wanted to see the car "in progress".

If any of you would like to come along, some-when between 11.00am and 4.00pm ish, you will be most welcome.

We are located at East Stour, Nr Shaftesbury, Dorset.

Email me at tref@twillingham.freeserve.co.uk for more details. Sorry it clashes with the Autojumble, but it is the only date we have available.

Best regards,

Tref.

Hello Tref

Will try to make the your open day but may be at Cornbury House?

Take pictures for PP! [:)]

Thought you folks might like to know, the car was driven under its own steam (petrol?) into the bodyshop this weekend.

The next project is clearing the workshop for its return, because its not going to be living outside when it comes back. Should keep me occupied in its absence!

Best regards,

Tref.

I'm sure they do if you insist on total originality, every component perfect, how-ever, if I had the patience to build something like that, I'd be afraid to drive it. I'm precious enough about my '44 Turbo, and that has been crashed twice!

I take my hat off to those with the dedication to spend that time and effert on such a restoration, but still end up asking...why?

I'd like to think that nothing I do will take anything away from this car, that if, in the future some-one wanted to spend such time and money, they could. Otherwise I'd like to think that we have preserved, rather than restored, this so that we and others can enjoy.

Don't worry Paul, you are absolutely right, it's not right, and next year maybe I can provide you with a list of all the bits that aren't right, and we can hold a competition to see how many people can spot 'em!

I completely agree Tref, if a car can be saved - it should be saved, original or not.

I've always wondered why the 'boy racer' brigade haven't seen fit to catch on to all the cheap 924 models and bling them up. It would keep a few more of them on the roads (well, until they blew them up [;)])

Perhaps we should take the remains of the donor car and cobble together a racing 924 for members!

Ah, you should have seen the vultures at the open day, there's nothing left of it! It would appear there is still a need for 924 spares in the south west. I did consider this, I was also considering an attempt at building a hydrogen powered 924 as a "next project"... I believe the wife thinks that 5 years is long enough sleeping in the front room, and the "next project" should be building a bedroom though...

Regards,

Tref.
