924 viewed from 944 perspective

I would have thought a 924s would pretty much keep up with an s2 on countfy roads if you were bothered re that ?

Mas

Mine was a 2lt lux so only 125 bhp.No where near enough to keep up with an S2.I don't know about a 924S though,I would imagine it would keep up with a turbo no problem but an S2 would just be too much for it..............[:D][:D][:D]

I much prefer the look of the early interior too.

I'd love to own this particular flavour of 924 - as pure as they come:

Failing that, it would have to be a turbo in 2-tone green with the brown interior [8D]

Does anybody know anything about this particular 924s?......Seems good value if everything is as it states...

Oh, that looks brutal. I like very much!

That makes me want to paint the sidewall markings on mine...[&:]

Love it jonny.I still have an urge to build a quick 924 using 951 running gear and engine with carerra body kit. It's either that or a 914 with a subaru turbo up its bum.

Arghh dont post that one , thats the one I fancy ( I have e mailed him as yet no repply I would add)

I dont fancy the trip round past London to view it in the olympic traffic if its not that good though TBH. If It was close to me or I knew somenone to view it , I'd probably snap it up just to keep TBH.
It's pennies after all.

With only 16 genuine 'Type 933' built by the factory, I guess i'll be waiting a while.

Nice spec though, ~180bhp ~970kg, power-to-weight similar to a 944 Turbo S...

Anyone remember the red one for sale a short while ago with the 968 engine ? , I didnt quite like it enough because the interior was stripped. I'm kind of thinking mmm maybe I could have put the interior back now. It did look rather nice lol

I remember it.It was lovely and very well done.It went for around ÂŁ7k if I remember right.A bit too much for me at the time.

I believe if Porsche had used 15-20mm lower suspension like the 924S Le Mans from the outset with wider wheels, then it wouldn't have had the 'feminine' tag its held for some while. A lowered car with the right wheels does look 'proper' regardless of the paint or interior quality. It will never be a 'powerful' car but it does have lightness and nimbleness on its side. Late 924S and Turbo's definitely have the legs to mix it with 944's, 968's and indeed 911's which aren't being fully spanked by their owners.

When I bought mine I was fully intending on fitting a Carrera GT kit. The turbo was a desired car by me back in 1980 but then eclipsed when I first saw the CGT and GTS in 1981. Dream car ever since. Soon after buying the turbo I soon realised that for the future keeping it narrow body was the right thing to do and looked more pure. I am so glad I made that decision now. If I were to buy another car now it would definitely be the earliest one I could find. I'd keep the spoiler less hatch but would lower it on some slighter wider steel or ally rims

Glad to see some further love for the 924 within the 944 section. Thats why I keep coming back despite it being the 'wrong' section for my car.

This is my favourite 924 NA, apart from the race versions

Saw that one in a magazine but cant remember which one.Still love the 924 and will add one to the stable just can't decide if it should be next project or the one after.I really want to build something uncluttered but stupidly fast to use on the track and as a road toy.

The topic got more genuine interest than i expected !

IF I did buy one it wont be because its cheaper than a 944 i'd go for a le mans or turbo or maybe a really really nice S

They are getting rarer arent they , maybe a possible investment tip !. I havnt seen a cheap decent le mans or turbo for ages.
