924S for sale

Only 1988 runout 924S models had the 944 spec engine. All of those prior to that date were detuned so as not to challenge the 944. It really wouldn't have made any marketing sense at all to have the same power in both, thus disadvantaging the 944 "Supercar"........

I agree with this.
As much as it would be nice to see the prices rising for 924's, £7K
for this one is way too much..!

We always seem to get the 'that'll never get that price' posts, but I never seem to see 'Jesus, thats too cheap!!'

I hope they get close to what their asking. Seems to be a lack of 924's for sale on classic cars, pistonheads(there far more 968's, 912's and 914's the other day) and ebay at the minute.

I put an early 924S engine in to my square dash 944, still running the 944 sensors and ECU etc, and the dyno said 148bhp.

I think the first 944s had 160bhp engines running 10.5ish c/r and required 98RON, the oval dash cars had 160bhp with a lower c/r (to use 95RON) and a different ECU map and the first 924S had the lower c/r to use 95 RON and the old map to give them the 150bhp. Then the last ones had the same unit as the 944.

Steven,
Apologies but even you must admit £7K is way out of the range for good 924S's-however my e-bay track car is clearly more valuable now it's got the refurbed Turbo wheels on it I got from you & obviously faster as Mike could testify.[:)]

Any car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. And I've seen some unlikely cars sell for very silly prices, just because someone wants it enough to pay over the odds!

FOR SALE MY BELOVED 1986 PORSCHE 924S
6 MONTHS TAX [negotiable], 12 MONTHS MoT.

I have listed for sale my superb Porsche 924s with the 2.5L Porsche engine (not the Audi engine). A little bit about this rather special vehicle. There are very few 924s' for sale on eBay, or indeed in many of the motoring magazines or websites. They are becoming extremely rare, and are most certainly not the poor mans Porsche. This car will handle far better than an unpredictable 911 any day!
Why is this car unique, and probably a better buy than ANY other 924 for sale today?; this vehicle has two previous owners, both ladies. The last owner had the vehicle for SIXTEEN years and had it regularly and professionally maintained at a Porsche agent and specialist. Just prior to August 2010 when I purchased the car the previous owner had paid £1,500 for new sunroof motors and belts at Stratstone's. The previous owner can only be described as a Lady; I was actually looking for a Jaguar XJS but sometimes you buy a car just because of the person who is selling it! The previous owners were elderly, genuine and a pleasure to deal with. The 924 was to be replaced by it's 76 year old owner with a Boxster!!

Both previous owners were Porsche enthusiasts. As such the car came with a massive collection of 924 memorabilia which includes:
- two original Porsche 924 1986 model year sales brochures in PERFECT condition
- a number of period motoring magazines containing reports on the 924 and 924s at launch, and in 1986 when this vehicle was first registered
- a mega rare 1986 OFFICIAL PORSCHE PRESS-PACK (find another? I doubt it!)
- original and genuine Porsche 924s press photographs and other assorted media
- an ORIGINAL AND 100% GENUINE PORSCHE RACING JACKET
- original manuals, receipts and records dating back to the original purchase of the vehicle
- original black leather sunroof bag - MEGA RARE!!
ALL THIS WILL BE SUPPLIED WITH THE CAR.

The bodywork is superb. As you can see from photo one the only area which requires attention is the nearside rear wheel arch. I have had an estimate for the professional repair of this area of £200.00. This is from a specialist classic car restorer. I can provide you with their contact details and they will verify the extent of the work required, and the estimate for completion. The interior is also superb, with the ORIGINAL Porsche supplied radio cassette. Mechanically the car is A1.

Please rest assured that this vehicle has NEVER been mistreated and has in fact been pampered all of its life. Until August 2010 the vehicle had been garaged all of its life, and since then I have NOT driven the car in the winter, or any wet weather. The car has been waxoyled regularly and as such now weighs 7 tons (joke!).

I have mentioned all this because I believe this car is not far off unique. It is simply a GENUINE car. I have listed this at a price which reflects not only the car as it stands today, but also the HISTORY which has ensured it remains in super condition.

So get in touch! DON'T let this one slip by. YES there are other Porsche 924s' for sale, but they're not this one! Any questions I will be pleased to answer. Car is MoT'd but currently SORN - I DO NOT DRIVE IT IN THE WINTER!!! But will make an exception for a brief test drive! Thank you. PLEASE LET ME HAVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS AND I WILL SEND ADDITIONAL PHOTO'S.
