Anyone run a frontal Bra on their 944?

Where could I get one? Plenty available in the US, but any in the UK?

I have recently bought a 944 S2 and it came with one. Was going to list it on E Bay. Let me know if you are interested, I don't think it has ever been used.

yeh I know they look daft but not many people are going to get a good look when Im doing 130mph!

Depends how much work you do yourself- such as removing the panel from your car. I would re=spray the headlight covers at the same time. The cheapest it could be is the cost of paint if you can DIY, which for a 1/2 litre of primer and topcoat in 2-pack would be tens of pounds. Most expensive if you present car to the paint shop and they do all the work, I would guess at up to a couple of hundred pounds for a decent job- i.e. panels removed from car, stripped to bare metal and any rust removed before painting.

Or you could touch in the stone chips yourself.

As an aside what sort of cost can be expected to get the badge panel resprayed ?

Well, I've just had the headlamp covers and badge panel stripped and resprayed and it cost me £160 - I removed the pieces myself and took them to bodyshop.

Those bras are blooming ugly things imho, but some of that 3M paint protection film might be an option?

I bought a bra from the US ebay and wish I had fitted it recently traveling down the motorway . I sustained a hard hit on the badge panel ! looks like a missile hit it ! The thing about painting the badge panel and light covers is getting the correct colour match ! hard to do it with metallic paint . The only snag about the bra is that the front number plate hole is not big enough so would not be legal to use on british roads . Suppose you could fit the bra then fit the front plate over it . I think the bra looks fine on a dark colour 944 and does serve a purpose to protect aginst high speed stone chips !

I don't understand car bras ~ if you are that nervous about stone chips then surely they can affect areas outwith the BPZ (Bra Protection Zone) too?

You really want one of these surely?

I always thought that bras were popular in hot climates such as the US and Australia, primarily to stop the front of the car getting covered in dead flies, as opposed to stopping stone chipping.

A Bra?????????????????

Why??

If you`re not careful you`ll be fitting little zip on mirror covers like some of the 911 lot! Makes a 911 look like mickey mouse [&o]

Armourfend it, not cheap but does the job

Alternatively: by maintaining 130mph, prevent casual onlookers from seeing minor paint imperfections.

Im thinking of writing to Viz with this pearl of wisdom..... [:D]

ZC the idea of the flaps is to divert the airflow, with bugs etc over the screen.

A friend had some on a 1960s Elan, it came with them, difference was minor and the looks runined!
