944 BRA?

But the triangular wedges don't go accross the entire width of the car so flies and stuff will get through anyway. I've always thought that they are there to prevent the bra from being sucked up in the middle and flapping - the wedges create downforce keeping the bra onto the bonnet.

They really defeat the object of having a nice car in my opinion. It's like going out on a date with Claudia Schiffer and asking her to wear a Maggie Thatcher face mask. In anycase i've got stone chips higher up the bonnet and wings than the bra covers so it isn't even effective. Sorry - I usually live by the motto 'live and let live', but sometimes for somethings I just cannot see the point. They're ugly, don't prevent stone chips, expensive and i'd bet they can cause abbrasion damage to the paintwork from the bra material rubbing against the bodywork underneath when grit and sand gets under there. I'd rather save a small amount a month and have a front end touch-up spray every couple of years or so or invest in that plastic film stuff. A decent bodyshop can colour match paint pretty perfectly and even make mid panel paint touchups with metallic paint vitually invisible even if you know where to look.

I'd rather spend some money on Fenguard or similar.

Speaking of which, does anyone know if Rick has started selling his fog lamp protectors?

I don't know but if I get the fenguard I shall have some extra cut for the foglamps. You can have a look when it's done but it won't be soon though as the paintwork wasn't cheap. :)

Does anybody do a proper paint protection film for the 944. I have it on my elise and can't get over how well the stuff works. Was thinking of a front respray in the near future (not that it needs it really) but will only bother if there is a protection kit available. Think the bra's are a bit errr...wrong in a very big way.

yep! my elise is armourfended but it is bulletproof and the car looks as good today as it did when I had it resprayed (after a typical elise style back end out acident) five years ago. Well worth every penny.

Sadly I take it there is no 944 kit then :(
