944 Brake Surveys?

Blimey, last time i looked at this post there were no replys, and i had not had any emails saying that i had replies!
 
I have decide to go for some funky drilled discs, but not sure on the pads yet.

I have tried to keep it as standard as possible, being ltd edition, but part of me wants to play with the engine and loose the lag! First the brakes, but i am telling myself that is for saftey.............what can i say i need an extra 150 brake or so for....?

Blowing away GT3's is the best excuse I can think of...

This will allow far less time exposed to oncomming trafic when overtaking and will also allow you to speed up, and away, from unobservant old codgers joining dual carriage ways. Additionaly, it will allow such devastating launches from the traffic lights that you need not go any higher than 60 mph to prove your supremacy to the base ball cap wearing Max Power reader.

Just about to fling my cross drilled 928 S4s (Zimmerman) into the back for fitting over the next couple of days.

As a matter of interest IIRC 968CS M030's have 928 S4 sized discs with holes cast into them not drilled. Apparently, cast holes are less likely to form cracks in the disk. Bet they are shed loads more expensive then drilled Zimmermans though.

How many standard turbos do you think there are left, and how many se's cos i keep thinking if i was going to buy one i would want one that had not been thrashed too much, and so look for a standard car. surely it must devalue the wagon?

I suppose if a known tuner has warrped it up then it would be ok, but I don't think there are many rose's about anymore, I know of around 20.

But hey thats my sensible head, and I don't think I deserve a twerbo if i am going to worry about that sort of thing.

Does anyone do a roller bearing turbo......that could loose the lag.[;)]

How much for how much then £ for BHP?
 
MAF/MAP loses the lag, especially combined with a decent wastegate, even with the standard turbo.
 
Just my (OT) thoughts,
It is relatively easy to reverse the extra boost add ons so you wouldn't necesarily be getting a better car if you were loking for a 'standard' one.
Done correctly there should be now problems anyway, the 944T is a very strong car with lots of 'reserve'.
Very few people want to ever sell a well modified one [:D]

I would think that few are standard [;)]

I believe there were 75 RHD Roses in 1987 and then after that this is the total number of 250bhp cars in the UK according to Porsche GB at Reading:

1988 159
1989 206
1990 153
1991 133

Total 651

There were also 51 and 44 Turbo Cabrios in 1991 and 1992 respectively

I would not be surprised if there are less than 400 left on the road
