944 daily driver?

I can only echo what has already been said, just came back from the South of France and she ran perfectly again, except that the battery is on its way out and I couldn't start it in the Chunnel after having the CD on quite loud through the journey, the other travellers were delighted (NOT) to push start me though.

My usual mileage was 10-12K per year but it is now up to 18K since I started a new job 18 months ago. I have owned the car for nearly 10 years and covered over 120K miles in that time and its bullet proofness(?) never ceases to amaze me, although maintenance costs are increasing these are for nothing more than wear and tear items.

Due to raking up the mileage so much at the moment, I am thinking of getting a smoker for work, which may mean a final wrench to sell the old girl, if only I could find £20K extra for a 993!!

I've been using my bike for the most part - hence the long time to get around to emptying my tank.

Filled up until the fuel gurgled near the top of the filler. Reserve light started to flicker on corners at 326 miles - filled up at the nearest station (stuck ten gallons in to reach the gurgling point).

327 miles out of ten gallons = 32.7 mpg.

That's about two thirds M4 / A34 use and one third town and country.

Enthusiastic right foot.

I've been using my 944S2 for 10 years now as a daily driver. When I need more load space there is the Traveller as well.

I agree, taking it easy on my regular runs to Scotland and I get 32-36mpg. 25- 30 driving to work and around town.

The car has got cheaper to maintain now I've started doing it myself (front brake calliper rebuild for instance).
