944 estate?

I've seen the pictures many times over the years but this is the first time I've seen a video:

http://www.dp-motorsport.de/fileadmin/dpAutoMotorSport340.wmv

Looks like the back end is from a Passat. They obviously had a job lot of red leather to get rid of, can't understand why it hasn't yet sold [:D]

The pictures look okay, but the video of it moving just looks so wrong, stiffer than our cars though so should out handle us with the right suspension [&:]

It Looks Very awkward...Not Very elegant at all!
Not helped by All that Red..and those Wheels looks DreadfulL!

Watch the Footage and you'll see why I made the above Comment..
I too Love the Way it Looks..In Silver at Least...Would the Red one..(In the Footage) be the 924 from the Pic)

In a similar vein, I quite like the hatch replacement on this one:

I've seen these appear on ebay from time to time, remember there was a blinged up 944 a couple of years back as well for sale with one fitted.

Agree totally..............its the mutts nuts and how rare is that on the road [8D]

An 80`s fast back that looks good.....brilliant. Given the money I`d have one.

Wow, I am amazed how many ppl like the DP motorsport shooting break. I thought I was in some crazy minority for thinking its a good idea. I was thinking last year how much I would like to do this to an S2. To me the ultimate S2 would be a shooting break type of mod with aircon. However I have a couple of issues with the DP conversions;
1) I have gone right of their mirrors. I used to think DP mirrors where the mutts nutts and about 2 years ago I was going to order a set. 968 mirrors or stock mirrors are more suitable for a project like this.
2) The back end needs to taper in more and be a touch lower at the end of the roof. Just like the Volvo C30 in fact. This would look vastly better and keep the lovely shape of the rear arches which is one of the nicest features of our cars.

This and the 16v turbo conversion are 2 projects I would love to do but probably never will due to lack of time, required patience etc.. Money is not a problem after all who would be daft enough to sell the 944 and get the 993 they have always wanted instead!

I must be daft because the one other Porsche that has attracted me for a long time is the 993 targa and these seem to be dropping in value like stones right now.

Some more pics of the DP Motorsport Shooting-Brake on the Techno Classica slideshow in this thread...
