944 front wing panels

Ask the guy at Berlyn Services. He was going to get repair panels for the bottoms of the wings made up. In the end I got the body shop to weld them for me and they have done a decent job. It is esential to remove the wings if you want a lasting repair. Picture shows a work in progress.

Thanks. Seems like its a case of grp ( ugh!!) if you want to fix it your self or pay a body shop to do something bespoke (£££) . I was hoping that there was something out there for the wings as you can find for the sills I.e repair kits. With the rust problems that beset the 944 you'd thought there'd have been a sizeable market demand for wing repair schemes.

Cheers

There would definately be a market for repair sections, there's plenty people capable of welding in a repair section that are not necesarily capable of fabricating one themselves. Me being one of them!

The guy taken over would be David barks. Toms dad. He did some wielding on mine and rebuilt the rear section off my sill very well.

New wings are crazy prices, iv got two on mine. And one been fitted slightly pissed to have it corrected iv had quotes up 2 £1200 !!! I know people who paint and fit new wings for around £100 a time on normal family cars

A repire shouldn't normal require the wing removed, however it all depends on how wear its rotted. If painted and protected correctly most likely the wield will rust next. Suspect most will still have some filler work after the new metal.

Cheapest way to do this is part off a full respray. Which I know u have plans for In the future. In the mean time I would do some DIY to make what u have last till then
