No Chris I wasn't suggesting your car was rotten - it was a good natured dig at Phil with the red S2 minus sills (and he took it very well []). I'm not a fan of red as you say but I'd stop short at saying red S2s should be dumped half way to Norway.ORIGINAL: chrisr
Fen , if you could delete mine cheers . I hope your not suggesting my Guards Pink 944 is rotten and belongs in the North Sea [] I'm aware that Red is not your favourite colour in 944's but I woudnt swap the old girl for owt at present - well barring 928 GTS, 993 C2, 944 Turbot etc etc []

My response made me sound like the sensitive sort - whatever is the world coming to , now must go and check the sills on the 944 []
Cheers

When. You mean you're going to take the broadband plunge?ORIGINAL: John Sims
Very cool, but I guess it will be better when I get off dial up. []
I'm just waiting for BT to come round and do what ever it is they have to do, in addition to drinking cups of tea. I have every confidence that it will necessitate three different people in three different vans all at different times. []
It should be worth the wait though - and you get the hang of waiting on dial up.

Dont see many 944's around the Lincoln area, mind you it is a bit off the beaten track - although we have just got a Dual Carriageway connecting us to Newark & the A1 - replacing an old cart track they called the A46 its a bit like getting a broadband update from dial up which I experienced a few Months ago - well worth the wait.

I chose to put my pin in Finglas on Dublins North Side.
Anyone from Dublin would get the Irony.

Great idea and great fun - and of course a great tool for car thieves! All they'll need is a map with Ferarris, Beamers, Rollers etc.!! Or am I just being synical?
My anti theft device is to park my 18yo 944 next to a very nice 996 Cab and 10 metres from a Cayenne in Central London. Worked thus far. I am just hoping that would be theives have forgotten that my 944 door locks are pretty much the same as the 1972 Golf One's when they can't find a Stanley knife....

It's well good this broadband lark ain't it? I should have done it ages ago.[]
The only down side is that I need to fit seat belts to my office chair, and take travel sickness pills, because of the velocity I get from site to site. Oh, there is another small problem in that, now I don't have to wait for everything, I'll need to find more sites to browse otherwise I might have time to do some work.
I thought your name stayed at the top of the forum for a long time for someone paying for a painfully slow telephone call []ORIGINAL: John Sims

BTW you have made 14 posts to my 58... [] I hope you are going to put some effort in to make the competition interesting now you have broadband [8D]
Ah yes, but I have been away on the R11 WOTTY for 4 days and wasn't going to log on after the Hotel suggested silly rates for telephone usage. Not that it would have made any difference as my ISP screwed up my dial-up connection when they swapped me to ADSL. Still, I'm back now and, armed with the ability to flick through the topics at break neck speed, I'm hoping to "keep you honest" as MB would say on F1. []
58 posts is a significant effort though.
To get back on thread, I obviously had to instal Google Earth - I can't imagine how that would look with dial-up. []

Don't worry John. Like you, I'm covertly deleting many of Fens older posts - he'll never notice.
Ssshhhhh [:-]
I wouldn't do such a thing. That would be cheating. But thanks for the opportunity to reply and thus make another legitimate posting.
BTW, Fen's tally does seem to have diminished slightly?

So John, this forum is not only bad for causing turbo fettling and regular assaults on the credit card but computer facilities too. []
You could call me a snob, but there is no way I'm going back to dial-up.
You have it in a nutshell. What I hadn't realised is, because broadband is that much faster, you can flash between supplier's sites so much quicker and spend more faster. [&:]
