944 pics etc

Tony

Great slide show. Very interested to find out where you got the photo of the Turbo S with the Black graphic down the side ?

I'm now the proud owner of this car - haven't ever seen another Turbo S like it so I'm assuming this is my car.

Yours

I filed it in 2001 and if I recall correctly it was in answer to some discussion as to whether a Turbo SE actually existed as a designation - as its on what looks very like a TurboS it didn't help much ;)

Anyway back to the photo, I think it is a scan from a book that is in my office but if I remember rightly it didn't have any further info. It is surrounded by other Porsches though and the building looks very like it might be the old headquarters of PCGB.

If it was mine and I wanted to find out more I think I would send a photo to Steve Kevlin (spelling?) who runs the trackdays for the club, he worked for pcgb about the right time and might recognise it, could be it was press car or possibly a pre-production model.

Will check in the book next time I am in the office.

Tony,
I will give some serious thought about organising something up here, not sure if i will be able to gauge interest on this board as it will not be official........moderators ?
I mentioned organising a Turbo S meet on Titanic and got a decent response.
Dave still has his Turbo and sent it away to a specialist classic restorer in Carlisle for a glass out paintjob, shortly after getting it back he was rear ended at some temporary traffic lights, the insurance tried to write the car off but he battled them and they agreed to repair it,not sure if he has it back yet.
My car is currently SORN and will be getting taxed for April, i have promised myself to get out more in it this year !
Let me know when you are free this year with a view to getting something sorted.
Anyone else fancy a day or so in the Lakes with their 944's?

We are A Club so if members want to organise an event, or gathering, we are all in favour and will obviously do what we can to assist in promoting it - assuming it is a non commercial undertaking etc. (eg Come and see my new workshop/factory/shop would be a no no on the forum )
