944 S2 Baltic Blue Respray

Solid colour is much easier to match than metallic due to the colour varying depending on angle of the gun.
Colour matching should be very good when using a spectro scanner machine. In the past when my car needed some work, Chris at 911 bodyshop would send a part to be measured for a correct match, one time this waa just the fuel filler cap. Today most good bodyshops should have such a machine on site, my son certainly has and he's only a small shop.

Thanks for all the advice guys, much appreciated. Unfortunately that isn't the only panel, just the worst one. I'm going to take it to Wheel Wizard near Cobham to see what they and get the wheels refurb'd.
I have looked into wrapping but as I understand it, the wrap only lasts 3 or 4 years before it has to be redone. Happy to take any opinions.

A long time ago some scumbag ripped the door lock out of my diamond white 87 Cosworth trying to steal it. The Ford garage that did the repair had 2 attempts at trying to match the new door paint to the front and rear wings. In the end they had to paint the whole side of the car. Apparently there were several variations of diamond white. The paint supplier I mentioned previously had a spectro scanner and even if I took the car there, or left the filler cap cover, they wouldn't guarantee a perfect match.

My son bought a 2005 Civic Type R last year and the rear wing was awful, it had been aerosol sprayed (silver car) there was zero gloss to it and we knew it would be one of the first things he'd want sorting on it.

I took it to my local Honda approved bodyshop (I work at a dealership) and had the ripples filled and flatted and the whole drivers rear wing re-painted, and blended in to the front door.

I was sceptical of how good it would be blending it in, but my god the end result was nothing short of superb.
All for £400

And as Morecambe and Wise used to say, you can't see the join :ROFLMAO:

Oh yeah detailers, try Rob Leys at Gleammachine (Essex) couple of hours drive for you, or Richard Tipper at Perfection Valet (mobile service will come to you too)

Used Richard on a year old NSX at work and did a lovely job, genuinely nice guy, and owns a Cayman (he came all the way up to Lincoln for a couple of days)

Rob @ Gleammachine also has a Porsche (987 Boxster) so these guys could help you or even point you in the direction of a decent bodyshop in your area.
Worth a try
