944 TURBO CAB ON TV ?

Hello all
A new TV programme "Top Dog" is looking for a 944 Turbo cab to be used in a group comparison with TVR V8S, Morgan +8, MG RV8 etc all contemporary cars from around 1990--1993 in the c£25-£28k bracket when new. In the first instance if you could email me on uktrucks@msn.com I will then call you and put you in direct contact with the shows creator/producers etc.

I'm pretty sure the Turbo cab was in excess of £40k when it was new, certainly high £30k's. My S2 cab would have cost the original company owners £36k + extras which was a huge reduction over the 1990 price of £41k to move the last of them. I think the Turbo cab may have been special enough that it wasn't discounted so heavily.

Anyway, I know you're only the messenger.

I can't think of anyone who has a Turbo cab these days, but definitely nobody on here who posts does (maybe a lurker though). You might have more luck on the Titanic list.

Fen,

according to the Porsche Cars (GB) pricelist for the 1991 Model Year, the 944 S2 Cabrio's basic retail price was as follows:
Retail Basic £32, 833.00
Car Tax £2,736.08
VAT £5,335.36
RETAIL TOTAL £40,904.44

The price of the 944 turbo Cabrio was listed at between £46-48K, as I have found in a 911 & Porsche World issue (8) of 1991.

However, don't overlook the rarity value of the Turbo Cabrio of which only 625 examples were ever produced, 100 of which were right hand drive.

My best friend has a beautiful 1991 Cobalt Blue UK-spec 944 turbo Cabrio (see pic) - the TV program crew are more than welcome to visit Cyprus and combine a holiday with testing the car!

Best regards

Emilios

Your friend's car is the nicest one I have seen. Based in the pics of it on Titanic I really wanted a cobalt blue cab. Couldn't find one before the Glacier car came up.
