944 Wheels

Those boxster wheels are 1" narrower all round than your original ones so I would steer clear even though the tyres are the same size.
Using the same size tyres on narrower wheels will just give the tyres a rounder profile and could upset the handling. I wouldn't go for narrower wheels anyway.

What are the wheel sizes of the 944S 7x15?

The earlier teledial wheels have an offset of 23mm, which is significantly different to D90's.

Late wheels on an early car will sit way too far in without spacers, I think they clear everything but look very silly.
Early wheels on a late car will probably foul the bodywork and destroy the wheel bearings.

Any post 1987 944 wheels will fit an '88 944 of any model. Pre-'87 wheels would give the "Carlos Fandango" look.
Only the very first Turbos (the ones with Teledials that could have had Fuchs as an option) wouldn't fit. If the Turbo wheels are "flat disc" then you'll be OK, if they're Tele's or Fuchs you won't.

And now to get back on topic :-
Im sure if you put the wrong wheels on your car the brown trouser look would come back into fashion. [8|]
ORIGINAL: eastendr
924 (except 931) had 4 stud wheels [][]
Must be Turbos I've seen with D90's on then, it's entirely possible.
15" Fuchs are very sought after as they are the right diameter for a lot of race classes and they are strong and light. They are worth more than 16" Fuchs for that reason.

Then if you still need more info a search of the forum posts over the last 365 days should provide the answers
No, seriously. These are Porsche 944's - they aren't a bunch of barry-boy Nova's, Fiestas or Saxo's. The car was made with the D90's on it, and they suit the look of the car brilliantly. It is as the manufacturer intended the car to be. They are also the right size, so keep the handling dynamics as they should be, and are easy to clean.
Added to this, the D90 is a light, strong wheel which does the job as well as or better than almost every other wheel out there. Low weight is desirable, and the D90 fits the bill.
I cannot (and never have been able to) understand the 'change the wheels' mentality. That way leads to chav-dom.
OK, rant over, as you were chaps.
Oli.

The majority of us 944 owners are updating our cars with mods that are tasteful in terms of styling and carefully thought through in terms of performance which will improve the overall performance of our cars. Times have moved on and the average family hatchback is almost as fast as a standard 944, and modern hot hatches are knocking on the door of the performance of a standard 944 turbo and as such our sence of performance has stepped up a notch or two, so I see no problem in wanting to update the cars performance so it is on-par with the modern counterparts. And don't forget that for alot of us it a case of indulging ourselves in something that interests us i.e. it is as much of a hobby as anything.
It's nice to see concourse standard cars but it is also nice to see some of the highly modified cars that people are constantly developing.
