No, seriously. These are Porsche 944's - they aren't a bunch of barry-boy Nova's, Fiestas or Saxo's. The car was made with the D90's on it, and they suit the look of the car brilliantly. It is as the manufacturer intended the car to be. They are also the right size, so keep the handling dynamics as they should be, and are easy to clean.
Added to this, the D90 is a light, strong wheel which does the job as well as or better than almost every other wheel out there. Low weight is desirable, and the D90 fits the bill.
I cannot (and never have been able to) understand the 'change the wheels' mentality. That way leads to chav-dom.

This coming from someone who started a thread about slapping a V8 into a 944? (even if you don't want to do it yourself).
Personally a pile of sh!t 1980s style wheels set on fire using a magnesium D90 as a starter brick would please me no end.
Darren, my '87 teledials went into the crusher at the local tip and I drove off with the sound of 15inch tyres exploding off the hatefully ugly rims as the hydralics did their worst. The Cup 3's were an excellent investment and make a good 20 year old car a great 20 year old car to look at AND drive.
I would argue the toss about me being a chav, but I would rather go back to penning volume two of my design thesis on the 'Design of an Automotive and Architectural Foundry vol. 2: Sustainability in a High Energy Consumption Context'.

You want to change your wheels; go ahead and do it. No-one is calling you a chav. Just saying that big wheels are a mark of chavvy behaviour.
V8's in 944's? I guess I see modifications from a Chapman-esque viewpoint. Does it make the car accelerate harder, go faster, stop better or corner more precisely? (OK, in these Stern-esque times we can also add 'does it make it more fuel-efficient?' to the list.) If it doesn't do any of these things, don't bother with it.
V8's ... accelerate harder? Yes. Go quicker? Yes.
Big bling wheels? None of the above.

ETA: All the best with your thesis. I'm sure there is a post-modern irony in the title. Also glad that your 944 is now proper red again. Why can't someone make a red paint which is optically stable?

Excellent!I was asked to remove the word 'apocolypse' from the thesis title thus making it more post modern and less deconstructive.

I also personally wouldn't fit any non-Porsche wheel (in fact I only like Cup1's, with Cup 2 just about passable) and I'm leaving the lozenge in the 964. It only went in the 944 to get something dished with a suede rim for better performance.
