Hi all,
I've had an unprecedented number of requests for advice on where to find a 944 for sale. Apologies for the people I've not got back to, tomorrow evening is an admin night!
If you're thinking of selling, please let me know. I do get asked, and sometimes putting a potential buyer in touch with someone who's got a car that's not widely advertised can lead to a nice outcome.
I can't believe I'm asking for cars, after ten years of saying "there are too many cars for sale, and too few buyers"! [&:]
Really interesting to see the Boxster values thread. You could re-write it substituting "944", and it's a carbon copy of our discussions only a couple of years ago.

Hi Paul, I'm considering selling my black '91 944t. Most (but not all) of the work done is detailed in [link=https://www.porscheclubgb.com/forum/tm.asp?m=798174&mpage=1&key=%F3%93%B1%99]this[/link] thread.
Sorry McNulters, but my S2 is not going anywhere! All those anxious buyers wanting to get their hands on one of the finest examples of the best model 944 ever made (in the most attractive colour scheme, and with the most handsome owner I may add! [] ) are just going to have to lump it. Please pass on my apologies to them. Oli.
Don't sweat it, Glenn - it's fun being cool and you'll enjoy it. Trust me. I have a lot of practice at it. [] Oli.ORIGINAL: GlennS How depressing, I really don't want 944s to become popular. I've never been one of the "cool kids" and I don't intend to start being so at my time of life.

Don't worry Glenn, I can't see you suddenly becoming cool any more than I will! [] I don't see them becoming popular, I'd use words like cherished and appreciated. The days of someone picking one up on ebay for a couple of hundred, coming on the forum full of enthusiasm and looking for 20" wheels and where to fit the sound system, then falling over when it failed it's MOT, seem to be gone now.ORIGINAL: GlennS How depressing, I really don't want 944s to become popular. Indeed. My fuel light came on last night with a 20 mile trip home. I decided that getting home as quick as possible would be the best option! [&:] I quite like the way the cars are now being bought more as long-term projects, rather than the "run it to the next MOT and then scrap it" attitude that was common when there were hundreds of tatty Luxes going for under a grand. That was fine at the time, but they've moved up a division now and that's nice.Last Wednesday I determined that the rev limiter on my S2 still works, that's my kind of cherishing

It's a 944 Colin, not a 968!![][][]
I suspect that this is much more in line with what Ferry Porsche thought about cars in general. IIRC, he wasn't into polishing them at all and much preferred something that was driven regularly, and hard. Glenn, an aside but I have had very little cause to find the rev limiter in my S2 since fitting the chip. It changes the power delivery such that I no longer find myself wanting more. Are you still on the standard chip? Oli.ORIGINAL: GlennS "Cherished"? Heaven help us! Last Wednesday I determined that the rev limiter on my S2 still works, that's my kind of cherishing []
I had just written this advert prior to the very enjoyable trip to Rutland. Since then I've not placed it anywhere. Common sense tells me to sell as I'm not using it much, but I'm not desperate. Hence pricing. Porsche 944 S2 for sale. 1989, 102,000mls. 3 Litre, Unmodified all original. Non cat. Metallic Black with Burgundy interior In excellent condition. Full service history. Sports seats with studio cloth insets. 996 colour crested alloys with new tyres all round in Oct 2013. Last major service and belts in Oct 2013 at 98,520mls. Current owner for last 11 years during which time no DIY work. Always serviced by Independant Porsche specialist, GT One. Usual rusty cills also replaced by specialist coach builders. £7,500 and will not be sold for less. Bob Falkner, Sandhurst, Berks.

I've never had occasion to open the ECU and there's no record of the chip being changed so "probably". I would need to open the ECU to confirm, though. Mostly I find the rev limiter when overtaking with the sun-roof out. there's so much noise wind noise I can't hear what the engine is doing and I am too busy watching the road to watch the rev counter. I suspect a chip wouldn't help that [] Edit: which chip are you using? I'm quite interested in fitting one to the 2.7.ORIGINAL: zcacogp Glenn, an aside but I have had very little cause to find the rev limiter in my S2 since fitting the chip.
