964 anniversary display at Blenheim Palace

I e-mailed all the prospective participants of the 964 display a week or more ago about these T-Shirts and, thus far, have sold fewer than 20-odd. It's a unique opportunity to get something that recognises the history of the 964 - and they're only £10 each if you pre-purchase before the end of June. Each T-Shirt (there are a selection of sizes for both men and women) comes with a 10% discount voucher for use at RPM Porsche who are sponsoring the shirts for the Blenheim event. At present we are anticipating that the shirts will be collected at the Blenheim Palace event although there are already a few who will not be attending and we expect those shirts to be posted out soon after the Festival. I have attached an image of the design and they can be ordered directly on-line [link=http://www.964uk.com/html/T-Shirt.htm]here[/link] and paid via PayPal. Alternative payment methods are available where you have an aversion to PayPal. Regards Dave

Hi Dave, as you know I don't pick it up until mid June, however the more the merrier right ?? So please can I book a provisional 964 slot for me plus a Cobalt Blue 1991 tip C2 coupe. I had better book in for both days, as I seem to remember there's a lot going on and there's probably too much to see in one. So being a PCGB newbie I'll probably need loads of details like do they do B&B in that big house in the pictures ? ;) See you there ! Andy Rose

Andy, I'll put you onj the list for both days. It might be worth giving Cornbury House a ring about B&Bs. They have a deal with Holdiay Inn but they may give you a lead on B&Bs. Don't forget the T-Shirt!! See the post above. Edited to add: Just seen the e-mail about the T-Shirt. Thanks. Dave

Just a quick update. We currently have 85 cars registered through Doodle for the 964 20th Anniversary display over the two day period. We would like to get more - so don't hold back!! Some of those registered will not be there unfortunately but all who can make it are welcome. We are not looking for pristine/concours cars - just good old honest 964s of all varieties. All variations are welcome, whether it be Coupes, Targas, Cabs, RS'es, Turbos, Speedsters (I wish!!). Just visit the Doodle page ([link=http://www.doodle.com/participation.html?pollId=uuftv9funpe6ka3v]link here[/link]) to register. Also, don't forget the special 20th Anniversary T-Shirts. On offer at £10 each until the end of June. They will be on sale at Blenheim but they will be £15 each then. Order via the link in the above post. Regards Dave

T Shirt ordered and put myself down for both days on the display (subject to still having her as she's up for sale at the moment [&o]) Craig

Found out where to book my tickets for Blenheim on-line, so will be doing so shortly. Just wanted to check, will we be automatically directed to the register anniversary display parking on the day or do we need a special badge/pass?

Colin, My understanding is that your advance purchase ticket will get you some form of pass which will enable you to avoid the queues at the pay lines. Once you're into the grounds I suspect you'll find a bevy of marshalls directing you to the right place. The actual layout of the site is only likely to happen on the Thursday or Friday before so don't be surprised if there is a degree of confusion for the first day at least. We've got something like 90 964s registered for the display thus far for the 2 days so hopefully the Register display should be fairly apparent!! I should be there early on both days handing out the T-Shirts (don't forget to place your orders at [link=http://www.964uk.com/html/T-Shirt.htm]http://www.964uk.com/html/T-Shirt.htm[/link] before the end of June). Looking forward to seeing everybody there. Regards Dave

Hi, I'm going on the saturday, and hopefully joining the rally that Geof Ives is organising from Cornbury house. I think the rally is due to arrive at midday, I guess I'll be still directed to where all the other 964's are? p.s. I've not been to an event like this before, if anyone has advice for any useful things to bring along it would be much appreciated. Thanks Rick

Well guys and girls I think we did our 964s proud today with a tremendous turnout. Here's a bit of the essence of our display [:)]

I think "did us proud" is the understatement of the week.. I was absolutely astounded and so proud to see such a fantastic turn-out today. Considering the day started with some unpromising weather, to see something like 65 964s was just utterly unbeliveable!! It gives us a serious target for tomorrow!!! Great pictures Steve - they capture the atmosphere perfectly. I don't think I move off my chair more than a couple of times with so many people coming to say "Hi" and collecting T-Shirts. I can't imagine how it could have been a better showing from the 964 Register. Well done everyone!! Regards Dave Thanks especially to Melv for the accomodation!!

I should just add my thanks, not only to the huge number of 964 owners who supported us but particularly to the 964RS community who joined in to boost our numbers. We pretty much duplicated the turn-out on Sunday with 65 cars - many of which ONLY came for the Sunday so over the 2 days we MUST have been close to the 100 car target we had set ourselves. We also sold 66 T-Shirts and it was great to see so many being worn. If anyone has a latent desire to order a T-Shirt, it can still be done at [link=http://www.964uk.com/html/T-Shirt.htm%20]http://www.964uk.com/html/T-Shirt.htm [/link]albeit now at the standard price of £15 + postage. Thanks again to everybody. Regards Dave

Thanks to the organisers and all the owners that turned up each day it was well worth the trip down from Newcastle. The owners of more exotic 964s who didnt turn up missed out, even if they kept their cars clean and dry.

Yup, same thoughts from me. Well done guys for some great organisation. Nice to see there's evidence that Amy attended on the first of Steve's pics. Anyone who's hesitant about 'a long trip' in the 964 should not worry. We (me and Amy) drove 1350kms (+/- 830miles) on Sat/Sun and she never missed a beat. She was happy to have some nice compliments, at the Fest and 'en route' on how good she looked with her shiney but 19yr old paint. Good to see you again Dave. Best Rs, Jon

Thanks Dave for arranging the Register, shirts etc. and everyone else who helped and supported the display- impressive....most impressive [8D] Craig (Still in a 964 for the mo and glad I was!)

Brilliant event, my son and I really enjoyed ourselves. The 'mystery' concours event was a great idea. We will be back next year, all being well. A big thanks to all those who put in the hard work behind the scenes to make it all happen and run smoothly!

Good to meet you Jon, you put us to shame having driven all that way and outshining the whole row ;) - so I went & paid over the odds for a bottle of shine-up juice & a cloth pronto (worked though). Hope you had a good trip back. See you next time. Best Regards, masthouse (KDY parked next to Amy)

ORIGINAL: Dave Wilkinson I think "did us proud" is the understatement of the week....
Thanks to everyone at PCGB and especially your good self for a great weekend. Fantastic turnout and well worth the sunburn from Saturday - yes really ! Best Regards, Andy P.S. No Narinder I did NOT buy a hat ;-)
