964 RS Light Weight For Sale ?

993 C4

PCGB Member
Does anyone own a LHD 964 RS Light Weight they are considering selling ? I am in the process of concluding the sale of my 993 C4, and in the next few days, will be searching for an immaculate UK registered, correctly maintained, FPSH example with the correct magnesium wheels. No real colour preference as to me, the provenance of the car is far more relevant.
Depending on the car in question, my budget is between 35 - 40k.
Please contact me on: 07815 111167 or email on: nick.blunsden@btinternet.com

Many thanks, Nick Blunsden.

You might struggle at 35-40k for your description.

40-45k and you will have a better chance

I also think you might struggle to find one with full Porsche (OPC) service history. Most are now being looked after by one of the few trusted independent specialists such as GTOne, Ninemeister, Autofarm, JZMachtech, etc - stamps in the book from any recognised specialist are worth just as much as official Porsche stamps in my opinion. Their knowledge and experience of this type of car is probably above and beyond the main dealer 'part swappers' anyway.

Fair enough, good point. On reflection I guess the amont of qualified technitians with the required level of knowledge on these unique 964's are few and far between.

i wouldn't dare take either of my rs's to an opc - the accepted specialists have far more knowledge and experience.

If you are not in an immediate rush, look over a few examples and keep the cash ready to act quickly.I think you are in exactly the right price range to pick up a good car (maybe not the best). Winter months, possible worsening economic conditions and quite a few 964Rs appear to have been advertised for a few months at higher prices without much apparent interest.....more chance the market comes to you over the next few months I would say.
Good bunch of guys on here, but I doubt you are likely to get a totally impartial view on prices other than they are going to the moon and you need to book yourself a seat on the rocket before it leaves etc..:)

Agree Paul, trying to get my head round the RHD cars at £65K which apparently sold recently, can you cast your market opinion on these sales or was this a spike or somenone bought on a rogue quote....[:-]

Des, as we discussed, small maket sample......not saying it's the wrong price,,,find another etc...someone wants a rhd 964RS low miles,,,then that was the right price between buyers and sellers at that time....
Reasons I gaveabove, seasonal economic, unsold cars....if there were 5-10 rhd 64RS for sale at any one time, they would not sell at such a spread to the true leichtbau Lhd version.

I believe a bloke called Bryn who posted on here recently might have one for sale... [;)][;)][;)]

Nick

You'll have to dig a lot deeper if you want something that meets your description, something north of £50K is closer to the mark for an lhd which would fit your bill. As for rhd, add another £10k.

Good luck.

Sorry but as stated in the other thread (before I stopped reading it), the car is not for sale!

Cheers,
Bryn.

PS. How on earth do I get it to show me as a club member? I've entered my membership number in my profile but its made no difference.

I was actually trying to push a potential buyer your direction. Is your RS not currently advertised for sale?

Make your mind up Bryn. You've wasted enough goodwill from the contributors on this forum IMHO. What's your story? First you pose as an enthusiast purchasing a low priced car that could be an RS. Then you are exposed as a dealer. Then you state you are an enthusiast that is buying a car that you ultimately have to sell in order to improve your business in order that one day you can afford your own RS. And now it's not for sale.

You have a bought a car from the market as a dealer to hike up its price with the result that a genuine enthusiast has to find more money to buy a car that he is passionate about.
