Whilst putting up my extemely handy PCGB wallplanner I've noticed the "964 run to le mans" on it

enlighten me someone please!

Yes - I can do.

I had the idea of seeing who would be going to Le Mans this year to either hook-up en route, or once when down there. Folks would probably choose different routes so we may have a few travel down togethers. For example, I am planning to go from Dover on the boat on the Thursday afternoon, stay overnight near Rouen, and then get to Le Mans on the Friday morning. Pitch the tent, watch the race then drive back on the Monday. I will be at the club site booked via travel destinations.

So far I have had 4 folks interested in getting to Le mans.

So if interested - pls let me know.

I will be attending Le Mans as Porsche Curves this year too.

Last 3 years I have taken the S2 down, but this year my co-driver has become my chauffeur in his 3.2.

Not sure if I qualify or not now [8|]

Previously we travelled with with the Leo Gemelli team, but I think they may be going to the LeMans Classic this year.

Catching Eurotunnel Thursday morning, returning Monday morning.

Basically it means driving / riding in a Porsche 964 down to Le Mans for the 24 hour race. Not to be confused with driving / riding in a BMW X5 down to Le Mans for the 24 hour race.[;)][;)]
You need to find that 964 you are hankering after in order to join in the fun.

We'll be there again this year, but in my 968 Clubsport rather than my 964. So if anyone wants to buy a 964 C4 and join in the run, do get in touch [:)]

Kind regards,

Fraser.

hmm.. Id love to do this, but its right when Im supposed to be moving house and things; if I can get the time I will come down, but won't commit and let people down

I definitely want to do next year though; thinking of making it my stag do [:D]

when i get one you'll know...believe me ![:D][;)]

Glad you explained that Fred,I was starting to get confused. As I have already posted the Team Appleton will be travelling down from the sunny North to catch the ferry from Portsmouth on the Thurs AM at 8.00ish with 964,944 Turbo et alia(for Fred the consumate linguist & Francophile). We are on the PCGB site so could travel with like timed travellers.

Out on Wednesday 09:00 Eurotunnel, back on Monday at 15:00 or so Eurotunnel again.

Kevin.

out on wednesday midday and back on tuesday midday. Still have somewhere to find on the wednesday and monday night. Honfluer has been reccomended...anyone stayed anywhere decent there ? (with parking!)

me on PCGB campsite too so we'll have to work out some secret 964 handshake/wave/callsign so we can all have a beer together...any ideas folks ?

Zeb,
Do I assume correctly that you have found yourself a 964? Or were you hoping to get your invitation from David and turn up in it on Wednesday night for the New Members' Night?
If the weather is okay I may bring mine out for it's first run of the year.

Colin, 'et alia' is actually Latin - I thought that was still a living language when you were a sprog so you would have used it at school (assuming you went to school of course)[;)].

Cheers,
(sic transit gloria mundi) translates as "The van is off the road Gloria, so will only be able to deliver on Monday".

Good job my garage in alarmed then[:)].

Weather forecast is looking bad for Wednesday evening, the lanes down to the pub (before and after meeting) are prone to flooding so I think the Jeep maybe getting a run out instead of the 964.

Cheers,

Fred,
the 2 bracketed items were not intended to associate with "inter alia" other than to relate to your obvious talent for languages and your clear love for La Belle France. As one who got very high marks in his Latin GCE exam at Bolton School I resemble that correction.Caesar 'ad sum 'iam forte, which as you know is stuck all over HP bottles of jam;it's bad enough to make you Chiver.
I also won;t be coming in the 964 as I am in the middle of rebuilding les freins avant.(which I think is french).[:)][:)]

Colin, Absit invidia. So you cheated in your Latin exam! - Nothing to be proud of really, especially shouting it over the forum.

Do you need front brakes on the car? This may help your labours - Nolite id cogere, cape malleum majorem.

Cheers,

(Revera linguam latinam vix cognovi ).

Ich habe viel vorgessen and haven't the time to re-study these European languages particularly as you speak English and my Pet disc is also in English.
Still no concurrency with 964 travellers to Le Mans!

Colin,
My babelfish wasn't able to translate 'Ich habe viel vorgessen'. It just said 'I have much vorgessen' . Poor little thing is led there on the slab crying it's eyes out sobbing ' I've failed, I've failed' and calling me Slartibartfast.

Cheers,
