964 vin and registration anomaly

I agree.I had the belt replaced 3 yrs ago at 85,000 miles and it was falling apart when it came out,although the vent kit had been fitted 4yrs before.Enjoy.

It's not that you had just missed out!
17's weren't fitted as standard they were an upgrade. If the original purchaser didn't request them the car came with 16's. My car is a '93 on a K plate and came with 16" cups as documented.

And indeed 16" were still the "standard" on 993s in 1996. I'm still confused about what my car started life on. It has an option code for 18", but early receipts show a replacement for a puncture that is 16". But the car had 17" cups by the time I acqured it.

Bizzarly, all the history on my car (new tyres particularly) indicates 16" wheels (genuine porsche). However, the codes list under the bonnet and in the service book indicates code 403 which according to Adrian Streather listing, is for pressure cast 17" wheels or aluminium trim strip lower sill.
