964RS + 959 = shared part no's?

OK, only question left......Talat, your C2 rear screen without a wiper, is it 1057 glass (i.e. thin?) if so that would account for the heater element, otherwise like Rich says, it seems bizzare!!

Nope mine is 1025.

Thanks - so we've established that the 964RS had a rear screen with its own part number on thin glass, with a heating element that it cant use, and we cant find another car that it comes off. Clear as mud!!! [:D][:D]

And David, from what you have said, M002 is both basic and Touring ... ?

Basic is certainly neither M003 nor M001 ...

And Touring has a different model number, so the M002 basis for both leaves both clearly defined ...

Porsche 959 - 1986 to 1989

Thin rear glass - check
Heated rear window (and it works) - check
No rear wiper - check

Could it be the same glass?
Maybe the 959 glass had a 959 PET number when it was used for the 959?
Perhaps the same glass was given a 964 PET number when used on the RS?
I put it to you that it makes good business sense for Porsche to sell the same glass to two historically very different customers at differing prices? [;)]
