964RS looking for a good home !

ORIGINAL: Yoda

I've seen some of the 964 backdates and think they look very wrong. Some of the SC / 3.2 based cars look better but its hard to get the weight down and the details are never right.

My car is based on a 1972 LHD shell, stripped to bare metal and modded to match the 2.7 RS. It has lots of nice details and everything on the car will be new or refurbished so no rust and hopefully trouble free. 2.7 RS motor on MFI should see it 200ish bhp and around 1000ish kg. It should be a very good approximation to the real thing in looks and feel ...... better had be!!!

I've driven quite a few of the early cars and they certainly have an appeal as I am sure those who have one (incl John) will tell you.

I started with a 2.4E Coupe Feroz 35 years ago had a few impact bumpers, 2.7, 3.0, 3.2 but they never quite did it as the 2.4E .... The 64RS I found, the rest is history ....

Look forward to seeing it ..... [:)]

Good to see you back here Feroz. I knew the 'hint of green' would turn out to be something interesting.

I've lost track, who bought your black RS and is it/owner still active on here?

I think the culprit has stepped forward ....... hello Jon! I think it changed hands a couple of times between me selling and the current owner buying it.

I saw the car parked up at a recent Goodwood breakfast club meeting - looked fantastic and has had some recent pampering judging by its appearance. Seeing it again after several years was the first time I really missed it - great car and I had a lot of fun with it. Shame I didn't need a track car at the time otherwise I would have kept it.

To get back on topic ...... John L (oldtimer)'s car is very similar, black LHD etc and was in superb order last time I saw it. Would make a great buy for someone. Much better colour than the pink ones available at the moment [:D]

Hi Feroz, Nice to see you're going back to a 911 and look forward to seeing the finished article!
Your old car is great, you're right it passed through a couple of owners before me but its been nicely looked after along the way.
Surprised you saw the car at the Goodwood breakfast meeting it was well tucked away up the far end of the garages [:D]
I'll be at Clastres on thursday only, looking forward to seeing LOTS of RS's all together!!
Cheers,
Jon
