964RS Techart @ Virgin

Just seen this thread
MCPMotorsport imported this car circa ten years ago----I was at Hermann @ Schmidt looking for stock and this car was lovely
It was the original Techart Essen Show Car, if memory serves me correctly
In loads of european/ french magazines---
It was featured at length in Porsche 911 World and still viewable in testamonials on www.mcpmotorsport.com.
Sting in the tail for me was that Thomas had a Maritime 993GT2 next to it ---I nearly bought it instead, but very very stupidly , didnt !!
It was only an extra £27000-----
I sold it locally, but took it back in p/ex --then sold to, I believe, the present owner..

Essen Show Car 1992
Nothing on German Fahrzeugbrief to show extra BHP but it was alleged to have circa 300-325 and our records show it was quicker than another standard RS we had in at the same time
Cost £13000 more than standard £ 64000 in 1992

I bet its a very light car.

I also bet the interior actually looks quite nice in person - I can see it being a pretty comfortable place to sit in the drivers seat.

Would make a nice road car with occasional track use and probably sell better in Germany than here.

That said if I had £55k to spend I'd probably pass on it...and buy a standard car[:)]

but can you buy a standard car for that.....no talking the prices up please :)

Street car with occasional track use....that's me but I will not be tempted to go there (repeat 1000 times to ones self).

I have that 911PW Mag and need to go read that article again.

Re Read the 911PW article from March 2005 (Light Steed) and that car looks similar but is some way from this one.

Has it been modified since the magazine article or is it not the one in that article ?

Ian

Light steed is here now--a 964 RS CS-NGT- not the car we are discussing !
The Techart Virgin car is , as I said , under testamonials---- www.mcpmotorsport.com
Show and Go @ GT Purely May 03

So yours on SOR then ..... seems an original optioned Techart Car from new, being sold by a reputed dealer, if so sure it will not hang around.

SOR? As in SORN?

Not mine, my brother's. As I understand it, it was the Techart show car (therefore they threw the kitchen sink at it, including the 300 PS upgrade) and did nothing but shows for the first part of its life. The suspension was so low he had to have it raised to use it on the road. I've driven it a few times and would happily take it off his hands but it's out of my league, even at a special price for family!
