964RSR - the story gets better!

Quick update before we shoot out to the MOG museum.

Took us 7hrs on Thursday to drive from Gmund to Stuttgart.....torrential rain and roadworks all the way. Two miserable guys by the time we arrived with very sore arses!!!

But it was worth it.

Got up Friday morning and rang Hoenigger who runs the factory tours at 9.00 on the dot. Told him our story and he said we were incredibly lucky as they dont do factory tours on a Friday but he was doing one at 10am in English if we could get there......dropped breakfast, ran out of hotel and 20 mins later was standing in the museum foyer.

The factory tour was amazing...you have to do it if you can get on one and its free!!! No pics though I'm afraid...

Then we did the museum...its just gobsmacking. Its huge has every possible rare car you can imagine in and is a beautiful place to spend time. We were there for 2-3 hours but you could easily do more....

Hope you are all well. Catch up soon...

Umwelt zone - we have used our initiative on this as its a pain in the ass to get the sticker and we'd need a special one now anyway which is 20 euros.

Our initiative has been to completely ignore it and plead ignorance if stopped!

Sources say they are not going to start enforcing it for another year anyway....

Thanks Jason, I like your style [:D]
in reply to hacki and just for Melv [8D]Yes they are mandatory for foreign cars/tourists ! Yes the car "should" be eligable for a sticker BUT only if German registered (paperwork proves cat is fitted) foriegn cars do not have the same paperwork so are judged on year of manufacture ! 93' being earliest eligable unless a Historic ie. pre 74 ?
