981 Spyder Anyone Selling???

A shame that you have just missed out on "kitchens" car. A real beauty that sold in 36 hours.
Good luck with your search

Hi Tracy, I can't believe I missed it! Someone is very lucky! I have been looking for around 3 weeks now. Ideal spec is white or red with heated folding buckets / PCM / reverse camera / Bose / AC / 64L tank / Cruise / extended leather. I wish I had spotted the red car it was 100% perfect esp. at that price too :-( Cheers.

Nice spec guards red are difficult to find especially at a fair price.
Good luck finding another similar to Brians.
I think some will reduce to under 70k with the promise of a 718 Spyder in the near future.

Thanks Cliff, I hope so but I don't mind paying for the correct spec but not dealer prices! Cheers :)

WL OPC sold one late summer for around 69k after dropping 10k to sell. (Just after I bought mine for 80k In April). May find others take an offer if they can’t shift theirs as most don’t sell in the winter.
One on Pistonheads now at 67k but with 18k miles. (Not OPC).
Given current OPC prices similar to a spec’d up new 718gts, could be a good time to get in before the new one appears (at Geneva?) as bound to cost more, assuming you get a slot and the 981 is still a cracking motor you won’t regret.
Don’t forget with the OPC you get the warranty (worth around 1200) given most are now coming out of the standard 3 year one.

Thanks Chris, the OPC are shifting price more than private sellers who mostly won't budge. I have 3 cars to consider now and its a choice of mileage & seats and how I value both of those. How much are folding buckets worth over comfort seats? And how much is mileage worth per 1,000 miles? With miles you get back when you sell but as you can see with the 911 Virgin car higher miles are more difficult to sell on. I have looked at and driven the 911V car and they were really great to me but even at £67k, 19k miles is 3 years worth of driving over other cars at around £75k with 7k miles. OPC 2 year warranty is £1,406 with 111 and £1,691 with 111 & roadside assistance or £876 / £1,051 for 1 year. TBH I am getting confused with the specs, mileage & prices! Can't wait to get one soon though. Almost there...... :)

Depends what you want of it. Use it vs. Polish it. Bought mine at 3k miles. Now 5.5k In 6 mths but it was a great summer! #memories! #priceless. The sound is just glorious with the top down. If I keep doing 3000/yr it won’t be low for much longer and lots are SORN over the winter. I was the only 981 Spyder at Bicester last weekend.
Love the folding buckets over my old Cayman std seats. Seat heating #1 option! Bose worthwhile with DAB. PPF is a good thing to look for as a ‘free’ option on used. All other options are ‘nice to have’ once you have the colour and interior you like.

Will be doing around 7k miles per year. One long euro trip and weekends when the sun's out. That's what we did on our mclaren. The spyder sounds so much better though ??

Sounds like you’ve answered your own question. You’ll be using it as intended so will be a higher mileage one before long. Go for the spec you like and enjoy! £5k difference is not much over 3 years. 987 Spyders still selling at list price or slight depreciation with 40k miles. Check the hood seams. Some starting to tear but a warranty item if still in time. Info in forums.

I sold mine late last year and was a full on spec with comfort seats. Unlike the 987 version the comfort seat has as many buyers as the buckets.
Actually i wanted the comfort seats but was concerned about resale but it never materialised as an issue. The mileage definitely kills value from what I have seen. Also avoid non pcm as they are very hard to shift. Also yellow can be tricky imo.

If your doing 7 k a year I would get something 8k or less to give a bit of leeway for adding mileage and retain a decent resale value come sale time.
Spec is a personal thing in my opinion .

I think that's the best way to do it cliff. Whatever it costs more now I should get back later. Cheers

Typical know feeling another will turn up with patience if in no rush and ready to move financial wise is always a bonus .
Good luck

So I bought one 2 weeks ago from Wilmslow OPC. Very good spec, white, 7,800 miles, folding buckets, contrast stitching, extended leather, 64L tank, PCM & nav, camera, sound+ & full AC. Loving it, sounds epic & sooooo lovely to drive :) Can't wait to get it to the Alps!

Very nice! Enjoy !
Brave man jumping in before the new one arrives. I was wondering when some pics would appear. I hope you bargained them down from the OPC opening figure last October. (what am I saying - i need prices to stay up!!!) (but it was slightly overpriced at the time!)
