Hi chaps

This probably sounds like a bit of a crap question but here go's nothing.

I've noticed that the Porsche website no longer offers some colours - specifically Polar Silver - when speccing your new car.

Does anyone know if this colour has been completely deleted?

It's kind of stuffed my plans up as my next car was most definitely going to be Polar Silver but obviously if they no longer offer it.......

Anyone know?

It's gone for now - maybe two or three years.

If it helps... You can get any colour you want - at a price...[&:]

Yes, saw that bit and once i'd finished laughing at the prices decided I quite like cobalt blue! [:)]

Can't wait a couple of years. Wonder why they ditched this beautiful colour?

[:(]

They seem to cycle through some of the colours every few years.
Next time we see each other I'll esplain why the prices are, what they are (no time now!)

Dear Dawn,

I have seen a 987 at JCT 600 a few months ago, in Polar Silver or very much identical to it. Did not take long to sell.

[8D] Available as a "special colour to sample" £2180.00 incl VAT and your dealer will advise you it won't be worth a penny more than a normal £543.00 Metallic colour from the boring standard range come resale time [&o]

The current Porsche colours options are a bit disappointing, but it's my hunch that there will be some new colours for 2007.

There are probably a few non-standard colours that might add a bit of value/desirability at re-sale, but not much. And paying extra for silver is a bit rich, although I do rather like GT silver.

I was strongly advised when about to order Cobalt Blue it would be like losing £1300 straight off at resale time [&o] Agree on the GT Silver but at a £1000 more than Arctic someone is having a :ROFLMAO:

MY07 knowing Porsche they will introduce 2 new variations of Metallic Green and Old Mans Socks Metallic Ruby Red [:D] Two Colours rarely ever seen on these shores

Is Lapis Blue a no-no? It looks quite nice on the Porsche configurator site.

Lapis is ok. But Porsche haven't done any lighter blues for several years. I had a Slate Blue SC and a Baltic Blue 964 which I really liked, but a Cobalt Blue 964 and a Zenith Blue 996, which I didn't (both too blue) . It's all highly personal.

Looked better on my last car than the config gizzmo [:D]

I had a lot of silver (my old Merc was Silver, my old Boxster was Meridian Silver). I've got a black 5-Series BMW now. I quite fancy a lightish blue and Lapis seems the best metallic option at the moment.

By the way, does anyone have opinions about sold colours (eg. guards red). Obviously, i'll get a colour that I like but dark colours are hard to keep clean as I don't have a garage.

I've ordered my Cayman in lapis blue....was giving serious thought to changing the order to cobalt blue, but had the same advise about losing £1000 the minute you left the showroom (adding to the other £000ss)...also then looked around at other mainstream cars and noted there were several that looked simular to colbalt blue.

The 2 thoughts together confirmed my first choice was right...so lapis blue for me!

p.s. Daro 911's boxster looks great I think!

I'll sway you towards Atlas at the curry fest [:D]

Oh you're coming then! [;)]

Don't get me wrong, personally i'm too tight to buy a car brand new. Just weighing up my chances of getting a Polar Silver car in 9 months or so.

I seem to have expensive taste in colours - Polar Silver or Cobalt Blue are the current favourites! [:D]
