987 S, 18" wheels vs 19" , some unexpected developments !

If there’s liquid in the spring perch I guess that a damper seal leaking is the most likely cause? If you jack-up the front end maybe you can reach in to the top of the damper to check?🤔

You could always try the “lean and release test” on the wing to gauge the damper’s effectiveness, but the suspension is so stiff that I doubt that you’ll get anywhere with that, so a damper replacement probably is your best course of action.

Hopefully the new wheels and tyres will go some way to address your ride issue.🤞

Even with my 15 stone on it, the dampers don't compress much :)

I also purchased a full set of 4 spring and damper assemblies from a lower mileage example (very cheap), will get a chance to take a proper look and assess them when I am next off work.

Might be worth fitting at least the front 2 as a comparison, doesn't look horrendously difficult according to the You Tube guides I have watched.

Bonus of fitting the whole assembly is no messing about with spring compressors either !

The 18's I am picking up are the same design as the 19's that are already fitted (Lobster claws ?), so hopefully should still look reasonable, even though they are smaller alloys and taller tyres to achieve the same 'overall' size.
