987S BROKEN FRONT SPRING..

Whichever misguided inadequate thought of these infernal things should be strung up. There's a body of evidence that shows the shocks caused by vehicles traversing speed humps damages the sub structure of roads. This may explain the high incidence of potholes encountered before and after humps and sometime actually in them. Speed humps, particularly the cushions that only partly extend across the road, are not too clever because when a road is icy they have a tendency to shift the vehicle across the carriageway either towards the curb or across the road into oncoming traffic.

If you ride any two-wheeler humps are even more of a hazard. And, if you've ever lived anywhere where heavy trucks go over humps you'll know your home shakes each time one passes. So, far from delivering 'traffic calming' humps actually compromise road safety, have a negative effect on the economy and create a nuisance. I rest my case.

humps won't bother me on my motorbike!
