992 C4S v 992 C2S

If you own a 992 4S did you consider a S instead. If you did, what swayed you to buy the 4S?

Not exactly what you asked but relevant. I drove the C4s and found it a bit antiseptic (please don’t ask me to specify!), whereas the C2S was more engaging. I struggle to see the benefit of the four wheel drive unless you live in the highlands or other snowy places. The extra weight/steering feel is IMHO, detrimental to the drive - at least for me.

I own a 992 2S. I had a full day with a 4S at Silverstone before deciding which way to go. The only time I felt I benefited from the 4 was in extremely wet condition. For me, my car stays in the garage if wet, it can hold the road better than my ability to try to loose traction. Simply, the 2 has more than enough grip for my style of driving.

I've had a 2S for just over 2 years and I live in Andorra which gets plenty of snow.
4WD and the extra weight might make the car feel more planted but a 2WD car with winter tyres will go where a 4WD with summer tyres will not.
I've driven my 2S in torrential rain and on snow and it's been fine. Save yourself 5k.

Helpful to read this feedback. I've ordered a GTS and was going to go AWD but have settled for 2WD with PDCC and rear wheel steer.

I tested a C2. It is a great car with more than enough performance. I bought a C4S as it was the best available car at the time [attachment=Porsche.jpg]

I went into my purchase with an open mind having preceded the 992 with a 991.1 C2 and a 997.2 C4S. I chose the C2S for the 992 as it was the closest car I could find last year in the used approved market to the overall spec I wanted, and I was fairly ambivalent about whether or not it would be 2wd or 4wd.

I have driven the 992 C4S and have to say it is very engaging and a little less 'angsty' than the C2S but the fact I've just ordered a 992 GTS in 2wd probably clarifies my feelings for the drive options.

I can probably be classified as a serial OPC purchaser of some years but have only been offered a waiting list place with estimates of 2023/2nd quarter .
Not unhappy with the 992s now the battery charging is working properly
and aware these are very 21st. Century

I have a 2021 992 Turbo S with an intermittent false alarm issue. It only happens within a minute of locking the car and seems a problem for my OPC to fathom out. Seems I’m not alone with this issue. Has anyone else suffered with this problem?
