992 Owners Cars
We are interested in you and your car. Please post about your Porsche history and information about your car (spec, etc).

So I will start!

Long standing Porsche owner - see signature below.

992S Crayon with Slate/Crayon interior. Main options are RAS, PDCC, Glass Roof, PDLS+, PSP, ACC, Surround View.

I bought the car when it was only about five months old. If specifying it again, I would do without the SPS and probably PDCC (although I do like to way it stays so flat when cornering) and PDLS+ (generally don't use it a lot at night).

About 28k miles, including the extended 2022 factory trip.

Let's hear about yours.

Tim

Let's try and get this thread moving!

Fortuitous timing as my GT3 Touring arrived this week on Cup2 tyres and torrential rain, so not the best combination.

However, collection day was at least dry to start with and the GT Silver pops in the sun.

A few extras include PCCB's and silver wheels, Adaptive sports seats, lots of Race-Tex inside, Exclusive Design taillights and Tinted LED's - you get the picture...

Can't wait for some better weather and get the running in period out of the way.

and for those who like a bit of colour here's the Turbo S at the same location

Congrats Peter. Can't wait to see it. 😜

You're living the dream! :ROFLMAO:

Regards,

Great Thread…

I’M not so good at posting pictures.

992 GTS Cab 2 wd PDK in Dolomite Silver, with slate grey seat inserts and stitching. PDLS

Nose lift.

Picked it up in September and took it to France 2 days later.

Faultless so far. Took it to CG last week as it’s now done 2.5k miles.

Very happy..

Nice thread and some lovely cars above!

I'll start off about myself, I'm 42 years old and this is my first Porsche, finally fulfilling the dream, as since the age of around 5 years old and having a poster of a 930 Turbo on my bedroom wall, I always wanted a Porsche 911 with a big wing! I've always been into performance cars and bikes and done many track days, including several trips to the Nurburgring. Most track days these days are on the bike though, although would love to take the 911 on one or two next year. Prior to the Porsche, my car history is as follows, the date representing the registration year of the car:

1991 H Reg - Mk2 Golf GTI 16v in Oak Green (My first car!)

2003 - Honda Civic Type R

2005 - Honda Civic Type R (Facelift)

2005 - Subaru Impreza WRX STI Prodrive Performance Pack

2006 - Mercedes CLK320 CDI Sport

2010 - Mercedes E350 CDI AMG-Line Coupe with Brabus Tuning Box

2013 - E92 BMW M3 Coupe DCT 4.0 V8

2017 - F82 BMW M4 Competition DCT

So, in June 2021 when the 992 GTS was announced, I placed an order with the dealer straightaway. After many months of waiting and frustration due to delays, outside of mine and Porsche's control, the car was finally built in July 2022, arrived with dealers in mid August and I took delivery on 1st Sept 2022 on a 72 plate. It was a very special day and a bit emotional if I'm honest, as it was a life goal to get to this stage and you kind of get a quick flash back of everything you have done to get to this stage. I kid you not, my whole motivation through University was to one day get to a position where I could buy a brand new 911, and I'm very grateful to be in this fortunate position now. 🙏🏻

The car itself is a 992 Carrera GTS and the main options are: Shark Blue colour, GTS Interior Package, Aerokit, RAS, FAL, Extended Interior Matt Carbon package and BOSE Surround, amongst other creature comfort options which I won't bother listing. Since having the car, I haven't messed about and tried to make up for lost time, so I attended the Collecting Cars Bicester Heritage event when the car was just a couple of weeks old, met Chris Harris and got a few pics with him! I've completed a road trip with a friend to Germany and back, visiting Nurburgring and Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, and attending the Mercedes Museum while there. My friend was in his 718 GT4 and both cars were fantastic on the trip and no issues whatsoever. I hit a cool 178mph on the Autobahn with ease and only slowed down because of cars ahead, but it still wanted to go more!

I've also done a day trip with a friend in his Ferrari 458 Spider driving around the Cotswolds, and I'm due to meet a friend in his newly acquired 2016 AM V12 Vantage S this coming weekend, for a little drive around the Peak District. All being well, I hope to attend the Porsche Club GB Bicester Xmas event on 11th Dec with my family. Here are some pics of the car:

As you can probably tell, I'm totally in love with the car and still have to pinch myself sometimes that it's mine. I can truly say that I have achieved my "Dream Car" goal, and that gives me a nice warm and satisfying feeling inside. As already said, gratitude levels are very high indeed.

I hope I haven't bored you with my little journey, but it was special for me and thought I'd share with you 😊🙏🏻.

Look forward to meeting some of you soon, perhaps at Bicester.

Great story and glad to see you're using the car as intended!

See you at Bicester - will you be the one wearing the crash helmet? [:D]

Thanks Peter for the kind words. Yes, hopefully see you at Bicester, think I'll give the crash helmet a miss on that day! 😂

What a brilliant & emotional story.... great pics too!

Great idea and some nice reply’s so far.

Not sure I’m that interesting but I currently have a 992 Turbo S. I have owned a Porsche since 2002 when I managed to save enough to buy a new Boxster S, (as a Cpl serving in the RAF). I totally fell in love with the Porsche philosophy of precision and detail and have spent the last 20 years obsessed with 911s. I have been very luck to have owned a 993, two 997s, three 991.1, a 991.2 and a 992 C4S before my amazing 992 Turbo S.

Sadly I waited so long for my 992 Turbo that it arrived just a few months before I moved overseas, so it’s now sat in storage. Because of this I am keen to find a GT3 Touring to replace it as I feel if you are going to store any 911 a Touring seems a better/safer bet. I will get to use it for runs into Europe next year so there is that.

I also had a Taycan CT (which I sold when we moved overseas). What an amazing and utterly compelling machine it was. I will absolutely order a GTS for when we return to the UK. If we return to the UK….

Tom

Peter, I am very jealous of your stunning Touring. I just can’t get Swindon to sell me one…

Hi All

Great idea … here's my story so far….I’m sure, like you all, I've wanted a 911 since childhood and had a variety of cars before finally getting one....I wanted a 'reliable daily' and I'm interested / appreciate modern design, engineering and tech so I'd settled on trying to get the latest 992 rather than a late 991...

My first one was a nearly new (only a few weeks old) C2S in Agate Grey with matching RS Spyder wheels/black calipers, ventilated sports seats in grey leather, sunroof, axle lift, PDLS with Matrix. It was a great car that I bought Jan20 just before covid and intended to keep for years...COVID hit but I managed to do a lot of farm shopping essential food trips down country lanes!

I'd always loved the design of a Targa so when the 992 was launched I immediately started plotting....I was lucky enough to get a Targa 4S allocation and after almost 2 years traded in the C2S. The T4S was in Night Blue Metallic with Sports Chrono/Exhaust, Sports seats in black with crayon stitch. Its a fantastic car which I’ve taken to the Spa Classic and many a PCGB meeting over the last year. I love the roof design, road holding and GT cruising capabilities.

However all good things come to an end. I love the design and setup of the 718 Spyder and had always been pestering the OPC for an allocation….during the summer I was driving by and they reiterated a Spyder was nigh on impossible and with rumours of MY23 being the last I wouldn’t get one… however a GT4 cancellation had just come in I could spec if I put a deposit down there and then….

All was looking good for September delivery but sadly the merry-go-round of options deletions and slipping delivery started…..all was not lost as fate took over after what felt like the umpteenth delay/option deletion and I was offered a 718 Spyder cancellation…the spec was locked so I’d have to take someone else’s preferences but it was a small price to pay….so I’m sitting here hoping (praying!) for delivery before Christmas so this maybe my last post as a 992 owner …. either way I’m sure I will be back on a 911 register one day…

Keep the faith Tom, and enjoy the Turbo S when you can, it is a stunning car in it's own right.
