992 Service Costs

yes it will, as Strasse is not an OPC

More specially, any service work undertaken by Strasse will have to be redone by an OPC to quality for the wrty

Not sure that's entirely correct. Porsche Approved Warranty states:-
  • • Your vehicle has previously been repaired, maintained or serviced in a way other than in accordance with the manufacturer’s standards
  • • Service, repair or maintenance has previously been performed on the vehicle by you or by a third party who is not an authorised Porsche Centre/Porsche Service Centre
  • • Non-Porsche Genuine Parts have been fitted to your vehicle
So an authorised Porsche Service Centre that is not an OPC can provide the service.

Clive

Is Strasse authorised?

As their website states they are a leading independent i suspect not...

Authorized Porsche specialist in the UK are

Weissach (Cheshire)
RPM Technik (Herts)
JZM (Herts)
William Crawford (Saltash, Cornwall)?
Nine Excellence (Surrey) ?

Best bet is to call an indie and ask if they are Porsche Approved. If they are then your warranty 'should' remain intact.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the feedback.
I have just called Strasse and they tell me "There's no such thing as an 'Approved Porsche specialist' and their work on the car will not invalidate the Porsche warranty" He went on to say however, that if they perform a service on the vehicle, Porsche will acknowledge that the service has been performed as Strasse use genuine Porsche parts but, if you want to extend the warranty, there might be an issue as Porsche will want to perform the service again themselves.....

Nicholas,

I think that you need to make a distinction between the 3-year Factory Warranty and the Porsche Extended Warranty.

If your car is still under the former then [under EU rules?] servicing can be carried out by non-Porsche dealers provided they use official Porsche parts and adhere to Porsche servicing procedures, although any warranty work would have to be done by an approved dealer. However, I believe that if you’re under the Extended Warranty the car will have to be serviced by an approved Porsche dealer. Your local dealer will be able to advise you.

I don’t know what is the situation with some of the Porsche Partner Network Independents like RPM Technik, etc. mentioned above, so best to contact them for clarification.

I agree with Jeff.
Once into Extended Warranty territory, you are in effect dealing with an insurance policy and must comply with its conditions, one of which states as in bullet point 2 of my earlier post 23.
Consequently, I do not believe any non-approved service centre can carry out work without breaching the terms of this warranty.

Clive
