Well with an early run into work this morning, a bit o elbow grease with the Clay Bar and then the Wax .... here it is in all its glory

Yum, yes, very nice rear! Is the colour the same as Ken's (silver-gold) car?

Pipes look like the ones with the "˜Motorsound' pack - i.e. Nice pipe tips (ovals) and "sport" (slightly gruffer) airbox (chromed air intake).

I have these on my C2.

Hmmm. Pretty, looks like Arctic silver, same as mine. But you really should junk that fat front numberplate, blocking your airflow and masking that delectable bumper curve. Fit a proper decal front plate.
Also you really ought to switch your wipers to park the other side, so that you have a fantastic view of that right front wing.
Hmmm.

Are those decal type numberplates legal anymore ?

Anyone got any pictures of a car with them ?

I didn't know you could park the wipers on the other side. .. . . It is always something that has bugged me. Is this easy to do?

Nimbus - there were some healthy discussions on the topic of decals when I posted the original thread about 4 years ago. Believe Maurice published the official regulations, which seemed slightly ambiguous. However I had checked with my local Plod before fitting the decal and they said no problem provided correct specs were adhered to.

AndyC - Elliott quotes the right DIY thread, but I had my local Indie do the changeover at time of service. Took him 5 minutes to turn the tab but a further 10 minutes to fiddle-trial and error- until he had the best wipe pattern. Apart from the obvious visibility benefit , I reckon I have a better clearview than standard. Go for it!

nb cant post front pic cos no digital camera

1 - Yes (although I'd obviously argue another line sometimes[;)])
2 - It's an OPC price, but assuming it's history is good, at 31k miles (I think I saw) then it's probably not far wrong (at an OPC), IMHO
3 - Yes (obvously depends a bit on your "day-to-day". I would not want to use my 993 for an hour's commute in stop-start 10mph traffic every day - but it's fine for this if it happens.)

Thanks Marke.

My usual commute is 10 miles - usually on M77, sometimes 10mph through town.

Truthfully it's a complete indulgence as I rarely have the oppo to use the right kind of roads.

For me, it's the look, the feel, the noise - with some practicality to take our 7 and 10 year olds in the back - thrown in.

So - a 997 or this 993?

looks great
buy it and keep it for 10 years it will not depreciate much....[:D][:D]
seems a bit steep tho!

Difficult to answer that question for you. A 997 is a very nice automobile. Go for the 997 unless you really really want a 993 IMO.

Ian.
