993 C4S

Appreciate would be more - although being offered poorer p/x against a 993 as compared with a 997.

That C4S is not necessarily that overpriced, if the car is very good, and that means current condition as well as service history of course, then you shouldn't have to spend anything on catch-up maintenance. Such catch-up work, from my experience of a few years of looking at various forums, could easily see a few thousand £££ go on things like (labour is a big cost) a full service, exhaust shield replacement, dampers (and springs if you wish), tyres etc etc, making a "cheaper" alternative not such a saving.

Hi Spizz,

1. I think that all 993's could be regarded as alltime great.
2. I have a 993 C4S in Ocean Blue and for the record I paid £37,000 for it in February 2006 from an independent specialist. August 1997 car, 3 previous owners, 44,000 miles, Full OPSH.
3. I use mine every day and have covered a further 18,500 miles so yes it is a realistic day to day proposition but it does require quite a lot of TLC. My kids 13 and 10 still fit in the back for journeys up to an hour!

I have borrowed a 997 from my local dealer (Solihull OPC) a number of times and it is much easier to drive and less likely to need regular TLC but will depreciate. The 993 has the looks and is far more involving if no where near as fast.

The C4S at Bristol does look good. Minor observation, if you like your music budget for a new hi-fi.

Happy hunting.
