993 Deceased

Sorry for your loss.
There is a way ( through the dvla ) to find how many of any type of car are currently registered with them, not sure how to do this but it must be fairly freely available info as I picked up a copy of my sons Total vauxhall mag, which listed , total built and current cars on their books. I've just reread the item and they went through SMMT the "Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders" who have access to the DVLA database statistics which are updated annually! Their info breaks it down to specific models , example there were nearly 300 ( UK market ) Lotus Carltons made, there are only 131 left registered with the DVLA, it could prove to the insurers just what a rare car they have to replace for you, because after all that is what insurance is for!
Good luck

Hello David,
The engine and gearbox are now in Paris since august in my garage. Both are in great shape. Through VIN inspection, date of production came out September 1997, could you confirm that? and do you still have the option list that was on car sticker? cheers
