Agreed especially when you take colour into the equation, finding a nice clubsport in the right colour is going to be
very difficult, but not impossible, just a waiting game, it would have to be something special to replace mine though.

[&:]The RS would become available when a clubsport becomes available, you would have probably seen it in both
GT Porsche and Total 911 magazine features in 06 and front cover of the Post December issue, originates from FMT tuning in Switzerland which Tom Schmitz sourced for me, Tom will find me a clubsport sometime in 07, or sell the house and put the Mrs on the streets to pay for an air cooled GT2 !!

I could be even tempted out of the 64RS for Steve's blue 993RS.

In fact I'd contemplate being out of the GT3 and the RS....probably my favourite looking car of all time in possibly my favourite ever colour (well bar a GT2 but tht's just not going to happen.....).

Keep my number Steve for when he finds you a clubsport...!

So which very nice man is going to sell me there Blood Orange 993 rs clubsport.....no
er ok I will take the viper green clubsport instead, anyone ever seen any rare colours?
we know of white, guards red, black, midnight blue, riviera blue, speed yellow, black,
have seen the viper in Japan, but never the holy grail...blood orange.[]

These cars are getting harder to find, I was looking for one for nearly a couple of years....I hoped to buy either a riviera, white or polar silver (only a handful made in PS).....
I managed to see a few cars in colours I didn't really want (red!), they were not of a good enough standard to sway me to go ahead with the purchase.

Having said that I do think the 993 looks great in red with the RSR bodykit.

A couple of cars I heard of were of sufficient quality to be sold at asking price before I even got to view!

Colour is all very well, if you are buying it for fun....spray it or film wrap it in any colour you want, if you want it for partial investment, originality is best.

I was fortunate enough to find an unmodified spec car in speed yellow,,,not my first choice of colour by any means......but if you are too colour specific you may end up waiting a very very long time or paying over the top $$$ based on an unusual colour.
Good luck with your search [;)]

It would be interesting to have a list of all known RS's in the UK with there respective colours, has anyone attempted to compile a list of colours before, maybe a new project for a busy Mr. Howells !!

On another direction, I have been a PCGB member for about ten years, being relatively new to the forum, why does it say non member under RIVIERAMOO2 ? and what are the gold stars for? I'm guessing the number of postings, how do I become a member ?

It would be even better if there was a 993RS book along the lines of the 2.7RS one which lists every chassis number, colour and options etc...

So back to colour, what will you buy? is condition of no importance to you?

I must say it looks absolutely stunning in Riviera Blue. I'd pay 10% more for it over any other colour I've seen - never seen a Maritime Blue!

But if I'd waited for a Maritime Blue I would not have spent the last 3 years hooning around Spa, Nurburgring, Brands hatch, Silverstone etc. etc.

The condition must be the overwhelming factor above any colour for me personally,
[FONT=verdana, geneva"]I am lucky with the current RS as it has won 3 PCGB concours events in its class plus a car of the show, this and some great media exposure means it will be a hard act to follow,
[FONT=verdana, geneva"]this and the small fortune spent on suspension, sprint gearbox, and 342 BHP engine,
the only downside is having fitted cup mufflers and 100 cell race cats, the noise level
has crept above the Oulton Park limit of 105db giving a reading of 106db, this issue will have to be resolved before March 16 !! I think the very small tech art mufflers may be the cause, these are like bean cans but sound the business.
Back to the colours, if a clubsport would become available my preferences would be Riviera Blue ( my shade ) as I believe there are two shades, my being the darker, I could be wrong but there are two paint codes available, next would be Black, then white, then maybe Red as this works on a 993 much better than a 964, The brighter colours seem to look much better on a club with that bare metal and roll cage, but what looks better than a black RS with high gloss zymol paintwork.....stunning.

According to Tom S, the guy who ordered my BlutOrange machine had 4 cars from the factory all in Blutorange ...................dont know what the other 3 were , but i bet Tom does and could well be an rs knocking abt in the Fatherland ....................never seen one personally.

My previous RS was black and it was and still is a great car, however I definitely did not want to buy a black clubsport.
With just bare metal interior and very few CS having a/c it would have been unbearable to use on track during the summer months. If magazine articles and concours are your focus I guess the heat isssues are of little consequence [;)]

I have recently bought a black RS Clubsport through Tom. It's got a/c[:D]. As part of its weight saving plan during its life it doesn't have heating though. Rather chilly at the moment, but my other car is a screenless Caterham so it's all relative!
