Just quoting from the latest Jan issue of Total 911.
A few months ago I took my 993RS along for a photo shoot and road test , with feature editor John Boggiano along with 2 other 964RS Clubbies and a modified 993RS.
The photo's in the article are great because we had....Speed Yellow, Riviera Blue, Mint Green and Maritime Blue cars........ very discrete[&:]

(thanks to the other owners...Steve, Stu, Simon[;)])

We all had a great day and really pleased that the 993RS did so well[:)]

Nice one! I will look out for the article John, pleased, but not at all suprised your car did so well, definitely one of the best examples in the UK.

Only question is,,,,,,,,,,,, where was the 993 Clubsport in the test line up [8|]

Hi John
Does this mean i have to go and buy a crap mag, just to see your article,or can i wait until march to see your copy at the oulton rs track day.I could always visit our local smiths ,but if its a good article for a change,i may well have to buy it.
I can then have you as a pin up in my garage!!

John, look forward to seeing the piece. Sounds like a good day out and always good to have some decent pics of the car.

Paul, you save your pennies, I'll pass my copy on to you when I collect my helmet.... in any case I expect Total 911 will be special order by Pony Express in your neck of the woods [:D]

But John they will be disappointed when they realise they were meant to be camped outside my house!!:ROFLMAO:

I have already drawn a mistache on your face john.
I must nip down to smiths and save me self a few bob ,to put towards my new car nigel.
Its lands end of first week of jan,any time after nigel for a visit and a rip up the road.

Great photos good to see a range of typical RS colours! Shame about the final conclusion about what was the best car being swung by the fact that it was RHD! It was not a good comparison as the 964,s were both club sports and for joe public reading the mag it would be confusing.
The mag is still worth buying for the turbocharge v supercharge article!

sounds like the 964 boys are unhappy again!
John you are welcome a play in the new toy,it may make the car look even more handsome than it was when myself and chester posed in the car for ,a proud owners of new cars shot
Keep the 993rs flag flying high as ever.

Rskiwi,
I would agree that the tester felt more at home in rhd but that was not the reason for his final conclusion. He just felt that the 993RS in its standard form was the "best of all worlds" and a great package off the shelf.
Now I am first to agree that the 64 Clubsports would win hands down in specific area's as would the nicely modified Riviera 993rs but the spirit of the day was which car performed best, in all area's and don't forget this is only one mans view[8|]

Cheers

John, I would agree with Club Sport, your 993RS is one of the best examples that I have seen.
Paul, I am not unhappy and the more articles about 911 RS the better. My opinion is that comparing a standard 993RS with two 964RS clubsports (both with serious modifications) was hardly a fair comparison when the purpose of the article was to find out "which is really the best and why?"

Cheers
Jeff

I think it is a reasonable assesment..... best 911 ever is a spurious objective.....it could be argued a 964CS is a better track car under the right conditions....I suspect they found the standard 993RS to be the best all rounder.

I have been fortunate enough to drive 964RS & Clubsport as well as 993RS & clubsport versions.....I would say my CS is a better track car than a regular RS, but the balance swings as mine is nowhere near as pleasant on the road.......all in all if I had written the article I feel I would have come to exactly the same conclision.

They are very special 911's whichever way you look at it [:)]
