Dear all,
Have any of you out there had a breath of fresh air with insurance renewals, i'm driving a 996 2001 (3.4L), full no claims and best quote to date is £1100.00, i don't have a tracker fitted, does anybody know of any better deals????

Thanks & Regards,
NTH[8|]

Mine is a 996 C4 2000, no tracker and 3 points
Liverpool and Victoria is still £890 inc legal cover and courtesy car. "But you don't have to be posh to be Privilege". Privilege promises to beat your renewal quote if you have 4 years no claims. Joanna Lumley told me so.[]

Adrian Flux £496 for balding 'ole git with one claim in 20 years, garaged and restricted mileage. Full NCB & Protected.

Whilst Performance Marque have taken a bit of a knocking on the forum over the past week, I have just renewed with them, the cost this year went DOWN by £1500, mind you I can't believe it cost that much last year[].....depreciation being kind to me maybe??[;)]
Track day cover is now £95 per trackday (any approved track) with excess at 10% of value..

Made a claim a couple of years ago(no fault) and I was very happy with the way it was dealt with.

this should make you feel better

Full no claims 35 lady driver 3 points - £1400 - cheapest.

However we do live in Bradford [:(]

Adrian Flux £653

They didn't charge extra for the Sports Pack like a lot of other companies wanted to charge for lowered suspension, sports seats, etc. Unlimited Mileage, Protected NCD, Spouse as Named Driver, No Tracker, etc.....

I'm sorry but that is just extortionate. You should not pay more than £900 pa for a 911 unless you keep having accidents. Bradford or no bradford thats too much and i advise you to change immediatly and with the money you save have a nice weekend in Paris with your partner and toast the new insurer.[;)]

I am puzzled as to how those of you insured with Adrian Flux all seem to have gotten a lower premium than me ! Admitedly, I have previously been insured with "Cherisehd/Classic Car" type insurers who do not grant NCB on their limited mileage policies, so I only started off with an introductory NCB of 2 years, but, even so, on the basis of those premiums put forward by other AF clients, I would have thought that I should be paying a lot less than the £700 I am paying ! How much NCB have you guys got ?
Steve Lyden-Brown.

Hello Pete B,
Well done for getting such a bloody low quote from Adrian Flux, but just how did you manage to get ! Do have have a full NCB ? I cannot understand how I am charged £717 and yet you paid less than £500.00 ?

Here is a thumb nail sketch of me and my circumstances to give you a comparison guide. I am in my '50's and retired ( effectively ! ) and live in Hertfordshire. I have a clean licence and an accident free record but lost my 70% NCB when I switched to a "Cherished Car" policy a couple of years ago. I do put " 'er Indoors" on my cover, but she is old enough to not be penalised for lack of experience and also has had no accidents, although does have one SP 30 nick on her licence ( 48 in a 40 MPH zone). I garage my car and also insure a lot of other exotica with Flux, although I may not do so next year !!!!
Cheers,
Marlin.

NTH back..
Flux offerred me 871 this morning compared with 1195 as cheapest elsewhere, this was with additional protected NCD which was worth the extra 40 quid.
Eventhough i've got a cracking reduction of over 300 quid i can share Marlins sentiments over the fluctuations of prices fromthe same comapny, however, living in Tyneside, i'm pleased i could qualify in the first place!

Thanks to all for the help, much appreciated!

Nth,
Sorry you did not get as low as my £653.
SLB
As a comparison I am late 40's, had 10 years NCD.
Adrian Flux were £173 cheaper than Admiral and £250+ cheaper than a lot of the others I tried which were discussed on the forum.
As a another plus to the premium was unlimted mileage.

Mark

Hi Steve, circumstances similar to your own. Semi-retired, 56 years young, full protected NCB, was garaged and shackled to floor, no points, last woopsie in 1998, previous in 1986. No little woman on policy (couldn't press clutch to carpet), also 2 other cars and a fooking bike (which scares the $**t out of me) on separate policies all with their own NCBs built up over the millenia and living on the shores of sunkissed Liverpool Bay AKA Costa del Merseyside. Apparently, they find salmon in the Mersey now.
Dead, of course.

Tesco and Sainsburys worth a go. LV quoted me £1120 and Tesco £785 - their website gives 10% discount compared to telephone so worth it - web site is very straight forward with no irrelevant questions.

Good luck

Many thanks, Pete B, for the helpful insight. All things considered, there are an awful lot of similarities between you and I and certainly too many for me not to be concerned about having to pay AF another 50% more. And as for you, Mark, well, 10% NCB is going to cut an awful lot of ice, hence you getting the low rate you did !

All in all, I cannot but help think that my big mistake was putting " 'er Indoors" on the cover, since it wasn't so bad when she was a Sunday School teacher, but now her daytime job is a stuntwoman and her evening occupation is a pole dancer, I guess that I am going to get caned a tad or two !
Steve.

If you want to do PCGB track days A.Manning should be considered (I now use them and chose limited mileage).

Hello Pete B,
How are things with you ? Thanks for the info provided so far. I have now gotten Adrian Flux to concede that there IS an anomaly between the premiums that we both pay, given that our situations are so similar.

They want to do an analysis of the circumstances and can't do a detailed one in the absence of having your client ref no. or some other such info.
If you are willing to provide this you could always email me direct if you wanted to on marlin@spugs.fsnet.co.uk. or just respond via the Forum. Needless to say, if their analysis leads to a reduction in my premium, I will certainly be happy to express my appreciation of your help to me in a serioulsy tangible way !
Cheers,
Steve Lyden Brown.

Hi Guys,

It's that time of year again and my insurance is due for renewel at the end of the month. I received my renewel notice this morning and was a little shocked that is had gone up over £300 so here I am looking for your recommendations.

The following companies quoted prices without a Tracker:

Bell Direct: £1,178.05
Liverpool Victoria: £1,268.28 - was £890 last year (increase due to reclassification of vehicle)
Norwich Union: £1,279.00
Porsche Insurance: £1,561.49
Nowell & Richards: £1,720.00
Performance Marque: £1,842.43
Insurance World: £1916.20
Adrian Flux: £2,000+
Hastings: £2,000+
Lancaster Insurance: £2,557.41

The following companies required a tracking device (Tracker, RAC Trackstar, etc...) to be fitted:

Performance Insurance: £963.00
First Alternative: £1,032.56
Egg: £1,164.45 but would go to £958-65 with a £1,000 excess.
A. Mannings: £1,189 (Price includes Porsche Club published Track Day use)
Performance Direct: £1,300

I don't know if my age is against me here (I am 33) but I have held my license since I was 17, have had my own policy for 10 years and have full NCB, I have had one accident in all that time (2004 - third party shunted the car behind me who then hit me whilst I was parked at a set of traffic lights so not my fault and the costs were recovered) and I have a clean licence. I would have thought I would be a model insuree ;-)

Cheers

Steve

Steve,

Try DirectLine http://www.directline.co.uk/, we've recently acquired our fist 911 a 2000 996 Carerra and Direct Line were the cheapest out of the 10 or so insurers we tried.

They don't require a tracker, even though our car had an RAC TrackStar fitted by the last owner, we didn't get any discount for having it.

Steve.
